Consumer Complaint: I sent a payment to someone to purchase tickets for a same-day game through Navy Federal Credit Unions app under its XXXX section XXXX When I tried to send the money I received an allert on the apps screed stating the following language For your protection, we placed your payment on hold. Please call us at XXXX to remove the hold on this payment. Your payment will be cancelled on XX/XX/2023 at XXXX XXXX PST if you do not call us to resolve this issue by then. I thought that was strange as I never saw a message like that before and decided to just purchase the tickets through XXXX. A day later I received an email saying the money had been taken from my account. When I called navy federal credit union to reverse the transaction since I never called to re-authorize the funds being sent, they told me it was nothing they can do. I explained that it was fraud because although I initially sent the money once they stopped the payment and said they would only send it once I called to confirm my identity, I never gave the authorization for them to try to push it through. Navy Federal is still saying there is nothing they can do so I am out of my money although I never called to give authorization. Furthermore, the money was for tickets which wont even be valid as the person was not only a scammer but the game has passed.
