Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: Navy Federal Credit Union is furnishing inaccurate information to the consumer reporting agencies. The reporting of such inaccurate information has caused severe damage to my character, my reputation, my general mode of living, and my ability to obtain credit for personal and house purposes. Navy Federal charged off the account for which they recieved a tax break and did not SEND ME MY FORM 1099-C they should have sent it when they Filled the account as a canceled debt. The IRS Clearly defines a charge-off as Gross or Ordinary income, INCOME DOES NOT GET REPORTED ON THE CONSUMER REPORT which makes the reporting of the account inaccurate! By Definition, The IRS Clearly says a Cancelled debt or Charge-off is Income. The reporting of this account as a debt is inaccurate. Not only did they do such an act, but they also sold the charged-off account to a third-party collection agency which is now harassing me to pay a debt that I do not owe them. All of this constitutes tax fraud and I will file a 3949A form with the IRS IMMEDIATELY. I requested original documents and procedures from XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX because they keep updating the information when disputed as verified and they did NOT provide me a copy of ANY original documentation required under 15 USC 1681g ( a ) ( 1 ) & 15 USC 1681i ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) ( a consumer contract with my signature on it ) and under 15 USC1681i ( 5 ) ( A ) of the FCRA they are required to promptly DELETE all information which can not be verified. As a consumer, my rights have been violated entirely, these organizations will fully and fraudulently withheld pertinent information to suit their agenda.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 it came to my attention that someone unknown to me accessed my account and completed a wire transfer of {$1200.00} to their personal bank account without my permission. I contacted my bank ( Navy Federal ) to report this transaction as fraud, but because of my account history they believed that I authorized this transaction even though I did not. I want to know how someone was able to access my account and transfer money out to another account without me being notified and prompted by the bank to approve the transaction. I received no communication of this transfer or this person accessing my account and I'm furious that Navy Federal could even allow that to happen without taking any security measures. I contacted Navy Federal on XX/XX/XXXX to dispute the transaction and they denied my dispute, so I then filed a police report, identify theft report and appealed Navy Federal 's decision to not return the {$1200.00}. I am now waiting on Navy Federal to finish their investigation and get back to me with a decision in regards to the appeal. Since having my account compromised Navy Federal has denied me being able to refinance my car and this whole situation has put me in a bind financially. I don't understand how someone was able to access my account without Navy Federal asking for a PIN number or any other personal information that only me the account holder would know before allowing the funds to be transferred out of my account to another account. Account number is XXXX

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I asked about my debit and credit card expiration date then I was told that two cards were sent in XXXX. I responded that I had visited my mailbox but an employee had given me my alleged mail outside the business as an alleged favor because I am XXXX with a XXXX. I informed the credit union that I had not changed my mailing or physical address in almost three years since I moved here in XXXX so my address is the same. I have repeatedly asked them to resend my new cards after I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. An alleged supervisor responded without a name indicating for my address and I gave it to them, my mailing address. Today on XX/XX/XXXX I asked them again about my debit and credit card to be sent and they advised me that they canceled both cards so we are back to almost a week ago telling me that I needed to check my mailbox. I told them to cancel my two cards and send two new cards to my mailing address as there have been no change in my mailbox address. They asked me to call a number if my address has changed, but it has not and I told them.

Consumer Complaint: I filed a complaint on XX/XX/2023 about NFCU, and they were given extended time to respond ; when I got a notice about their response this weekend, the file was already closed. I had to get information based on their response, and since the file was closed, I could not submit the attached items. NFCU reported to the credit bureaus that I agreed with them and applied a payment of XXXX to make it appear that I paid them money. Doing this creates a problem and extends the bad debt when paid in full by third-party insurance. Their fraud department opened another investigation and shared a letter with an investigative team, and then the recovery team stated the accounts were too old to capture information. Therefore, the bank falsified information and should be penalized. The fraud team found the stolen credit card document and information to the insurance company, but the information could not be shared as the account details for internal banking. needed extraction before sharing, which could take up to XXXX weeks due to the age of the accounts. That, information was sent electronically to bureaus in XXXX, stating the accounts were resolved and they should be deleted. Then, after I started this investigation NFCU created a payment plan that was not discussed with me and reported it to the bureaus. Now, we have XXXX accounts that were once deleted back on my report and letters to an investigation agency that say the accounts are resolved.
