Consumer Complaint: I received notice from my credit monitoring about my loans. Upon review the changes in the loan amounts I found several of the loans were increased approximately double from the original amount ; all but the most recent and these aren't accurate either. I have saved documents from Navient for each loan, a saved accounting document from the University confirming the loan dates and amounts, and I also have saved pictures showing the changes in my credit report from my credit monitoring service. This is completely unprofessional and deceptive.

Consumer Complaint: Navient is the loan provider. I have asked for a budget/ income driven loan and they through me out of the the repayment plan because I took a home equity loan to fix some things in my house. They said that new credit was the cause of them throwing me out. Later I asked for a forbearance and they said I had 4 month of forbearance available, but I could only take 3 months at a time per their policy so they charged me {$50.00} for 3 months, then another {$50.00} for 1 month. They do not treat their borrowers very nice!

Consumer Complaint: I have a loan with SALLIE MAE. I have always made my payments on time. For some reason I realized that there was a late payment on my credit report. As you can see, I have always had a stellar payment record with this company. I tried contacting both XXXX, XXXX and SALLIE MAE with no successful resolution. XXXX and XXXX were reporting me late. There was definitely an error on their part. I was never 30 days late XX/XX/XXXX / XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I received an email from my employer stating at letter that was received by their office on XX/XX/2018 claiming it was a second attempt to initiate a garnishment of my wages and if not done would sue the XXXX that I was employed by, after speaking with my HR department no first attempt was received by their office and they were garnishing 15 % of my disposable income each paycheck to avoid being sued, when I contacted XXXX XXXX and the number on the form they first tried to pass it off on someone else and then after 2 hours being transferred to 3 different people all of this while I was at my place of employment there was nothing to be done, except loose 5 payments to come out every other week of 15 % with them then submitting a signed document which I have still to this day not received have called with no answer to how to have this corrected, I am a single mom that depends completely on my income as well as XXXX children who depend on this income, one of which is on long term medication and has multiple medical conditions that can cost me a lot of money. I am willing to pay but would like to be discussed and a plan set up not threaten my employer and send a notification like the one they sent that has no balance of owed amount of any alternative to pay, my HR person stated this letter looked very different from others that their office had received for other employees. My concern is when I try to track this said information about my loans and where they are housed to set up arrangements nothing is to be found at the XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX or NAVIENT! Please I need help in getting this taken care of immediately

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: Navient misapplied my loan payment. Within 120 days of distribution, all payments will automatically be applied to the principal. However, after 120 days, payments will first be made towards the interest, and then the principal -- or so the company states. I recently made a payment of {$500.00} on XX/XX/XXXX ( post 120 days of distribution ). It was misapplied to only the principal balance. I had to call Navient in order to get them to correctly apply the payment. This is a huge waste of time. Moreover, this is not the first time they have done this ( to me or others ) ; it is no wonder litigation is pending against this company.

Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I made a payment of {$160.00} to my loan servicer for one of my loans. During this time, I was also considering refinancing all of my student loans, both my XXXX XXXX XXXX loans and my private loans through Navient, into one through XXXX. On Sunday XX/XX/2019 I began filling out an application to XXXX to refinance my students loans by consolidating them. Monday XX/XX/2019 XXXX approved my loan application to refinance and consolidate my loans. I then called my loan service, Navient, to 1 ) get a 10-day payoff letter to provide to XXXX and 2 ) cancel the pending payment of {$160.00} so my 10-day payoff amount would be accurate. 1 ) I was advised of the total amount of the 10-day payoff and that I would receive a letter in my Navient inbox through their website the morning of Tuesday XX/XX/2019. Navient has two separate inbox 's on their website - one for XXXX XXXX XXXX loans and one for private loans. I received a 10-day payoff letter in my XXXX XXXX XXXX inbox for an amount that is completely different that the 10-day payoff amount I was originally provided on Monday XX/XX/2019. So, I call Navient to get an explanation. I was then told it takes 24 to 48 hours to receive 10-day payoff letters ( remember that I was originally told that I would receive it " in the morning '' ). I was also informed during the second phone call that I would be received 3 10-day payoff letters, not 1. All for different amounts that would total the single sum I was originally provided. I was also told that the previous person I talked to gave me incorrect information regarding when I would receive the 10-day payoff letter and the number of letters I was going to receive. I was then told that Navient would resend all the 10-day payoff letters I requested and it may appear confusing because I could potentially receive multiple copies of the same letter. I was also told that it would take an additional 24 to 48 hours to receive those letters, but would most likely receive them Wednesday XX/XX/2019. 2 ) I was advised by Navient that they were unable to cancel the payment of {$160.00} because their system is unable to cancel a pending payment once 24 hours has gone by, however it would take 2 to 4 business days to process the payment. Navient told me that I would have to contact my bank. I called my bank and my bank advised that I had no pending transactions from Navient. So, I put a stop payment on my bank account for Navient so if they tried to process the payment it would be denied.

Consumer Complaint: Years ago I wanted to pay off my higher interest loans with payment which were higher than normal/minimum. I noticed Navient 's website did not allow me to select certain loans to pay off with extra payments, everything was distributed by their system. I called the servicer and was told on the phone that I was unable to select what loans I wanted the extra payments to go towards.

Consumer Complaint: I have been receiving emails starting from XX/XX/XXXX, regarding an unpaid student loan ( account no XXXX ) from XXXX. I have not taken any loan from XXXX. As I contacted XXXX the customer representative confirmed that even though the account is under same name the year of birth and the last 4 digits of SSN do not match with my credentials. Besides, the loan was taken in XX/XX/XXXX and I have entered USA in XX/XX/XXXX. Hence XXXX promised that I will not receive any email or letter communication from XXXX going forward as this is a case of mistaken identity for debt collection. However, I am still getting mails from XXXX. I contacted XXXX again but it is not getting resolved.
