Consumer Complaint: I have two issues with a recent escrow analysis on my account that is causing my monthly payment to go up by {$800.00}. 1. I requested that recent overage check ( issued XX/XX/23 ) be cancelled. I have not cashed this check and mailed in a response four weeks ago requesting that the check be cancelled and be refunded to my escrow account. I have received no action or response to my request. 2. I have called the tax department of Freedom over four times in the past week and no one answers the phone. I requested call backs, but have not received a call back. The most recent ( XX/XX/23 ) escrow analysis says I make semi-annual payments of {$4700.00}. However, I make an annual payment of {$4700.00} for my taxes. This makes it seem as if I owe more in taxes than I do. This is urgent as I can not afford an additional {$800.00} per month in my mortgage.

Issue: Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage

Consumer Complaint: I had a home mortgage with Freedom Mortgage which I purchased with them in 2017. When the pandemic hit I got ill with covid and unfortunately was off work for almost 5 months so I had to utilize the Forbearance plan. Although my payment history was intact they sold my loan to another lender. Shortly after I sold the home and attempted to secure a new loan with Freedom Mortgage for which I was denied a loan. What I don't understand is how the underwriters could deny me if I my history with their company were overall positive and at the time of the application my credit was in good standing.

Consumer Complaint: I was awarded a grant for mortgage assistance they would pay my mortgage and utilities for 6 months. During that time I didn't make any payments to my mortgage because I was getting ahead on other bills and improvement to my home during the hurricane. The government grant HAF send paper check to the mortgage company on behalf of the recipient my self XXXX XXXX I have received two late payment reporting to my credit report when I have never been late. The taxes and insurance have increased in my house i spoke to an agent at freedom mortgage that advise me that they can " split the taxes and insurance overpayment in over 24 months they are not allocating the funds to escrow because every time i call every other agent advise me the same thing but falsely reporting that i am late when i am not I have all documentation to provide in regard to this case They are also falsely charging me a late fee when i paid before the due date

Consumer Complaint: My loan was sold off in XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX to Freedom Mortgage. Freedom Mortgage has failed to acknowledge payments made with XXXX that were advance mortgage payments that were paid ahead in time. Even though I have provided all documentation proving these payments were made and they are aware these payments were made, they are failing to report XXXX and XXXX escrow payments and causing my account to go into an escrow shortage because they feel since these payments were made when I was with XXXX, they dont need to do anything. Also, anytime I make a payment over the phone to one of there live agents, they seem to not understand on how to properly distribute payments when they receive them, as they will put 100 % of your monthly payment into only principle and causing the rest such as escrow and interest to not be paid for. As of XX/XX/XXXX, they falsely reported to my credit company that my mortgage balance increased by {$2500.00}, causing my credit score to drop. They have not provided any documentation showing there findings, nor were they professional at any point during the process. Freedom Mortgage is not a professional mortgage company and are responsible for mismanaging many peoples loans. Please investigate this mortgage company and investigate my concerns, or there errors and there mistakes could cause me to go into foreclosure. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I refinanced my mortgage from Freedom Mortgage to XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX. My taxes were paid from my closing by XXXX of XXXX Mortgage on XX/XX/XXXX. Freedom Mortgage had already been paid off and I received an email from Freedom Mortgage on XX/XX/XXXX confirming that. On XX/XX/XXXX, 14 days after the mortgage had been completely paid off, Freedom Mortgage proceeded to pay my taxes in the amount of {$2100.00} out of my escrow account instead of refunding that money to me. On XX/XX/XXXX, the XXXX of XXXX refunded the the entire {$2100.00} back to Freedom Mortgage. I contacted Freedom Mortgage about my refund which should have been refunded to me with the rest of my escrow money and they told me that the money would be refunded to me by XX/XX/XXXX. They have already been holding this money for a month but I waited patiently. I called them on XX/XX/XXXX because I still had not received the refund. The person I spoke with said it was still pending. I told her that I was told that I would have the money by Wednesday XX/XX/XXXX and she said she doesn't know but it still says pending. So I asked to speak to a person who could tell me what where my money was. She put me on hold for a long period then came back and said her supervisor said the check went out on XX/XX/XXXX and that they had no control over the mail. She had just told me it was still pending and all of a sudden now she lies and says it went out and blame the post office? I asked her why they would send a {$2100.00} check through the regular mail when it should have been sent XXXX? She had no answer. I asked her if I would be receiving interest on the money they are withholding and she said no. I just had a XXXX XXXX on Saturday XX/XX/XXXX and got out of the hospital on Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX and I need this money which should have been refunded to me from my escrow account when my mortgage account was closed on XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I Paid an extra payment to keep my account current till XXXX. Instead of crediting the payment. Freedom Mortgage put it on the balance, so I would still owe a XXXX payment. I have to go into the hospital, that is why I paid ahead. This is a constant occurrence with freedom mortage, so they can add on fees on payment you have already made and attempt to try and get your home.

Consumer Complaint: This mortgage was originated with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in the fall of XXXX, in order to reduce my mortgage interest rate with XXXX at the time that was more than 7 %. My experience with XXXX I was victimized three times. 1. XXXX withheld one of my payments without posting it and then reported me to the credit bureau for being late. 2.XXXX to increased my mortgage payments because the XXXX XXXX XXXX Department of water , claimed that I owed them a {$10000.00} as I was disputing the charges with the XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX water Dept. I had to take out a loan to pay the bank or have a {$1000.00} mortgage increase. I have a single family home but my bill was sometime {$700.00} but this stopped was I had them installed a new water meter. My water bill since average {$200.00}. 3. As I was processing the refinancing of my home with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX attached an additional {$15000.00} onto my closing cost. So as I started this new account I always paid my mortgage a month ahead. Through automatic deductions 1. Freedom mortgage have held my automatic deductions payments at one time just like XXXX but they could not report it to the credit bureau. 2. Freedom mortgage also once have applied my advance payment to my mortgage principal without discussing it with me MY COMPLAINT HERE : Freedom mortgage have opened an escrow account sometime earlier this year XXXX, for taxes and insurance. My mortgage, however call for me to pay my own taxes and insurance : 1. I call the XXXX XXXX XXXX Department of finance, they informed me that my tax payments were on time. I mailed my XX/XX/XXXX tax payment in XX/XX/XXXX, the was paid on XX/XX/XXXX approximately. The XXXX tax customer service, Advised me that when you use the United States Postal Service to make tax payments, it could take up to five weeks before being posted to your account. So the city have started a new pay by phone system. My next tax payment is due in XX/XX/XXXX And my insurance is paid until XX/XX/XXXX My next mortgage payment should be XX/XX/XXXX, but my bank changed it to XX/XX/XXXX for an increase of nearly {$400.00}.
