Consumer Complaint: My mortgage was traded to Freedom Mortgage, XXXX 2015. Per line XXXX of my XXXX, I have a front foot assessment payment that is applied to my escrow. After multiple calls to Freedom Mortgage over a period of 6 months, Freedom Mortgage has advised me that they will only pay this assessment for this year and will not pay the assessment in future years. This is a breach of my closing contract. I never signed any documents allowing Freedom Mortgage to change the terms of my escrow contract. I have also requested documentation from Freedom Mortgage stating that they will no longer honor my escrow agreement. They have advised me that they will not send me any documentation stating that they will not pay the annual assessment.

Consumer Complaint: My mortgage company for my homestead is simply claiming they I owe much more than I do. They will not and have not provided me proof that I owe what they say. I have provided proof of my payments and they still claim that they have the correct total. They have my home in forclosure status. They have been abusive verbally to me on nearly every phone call I make to them.

Consumer Complaint: I tried to make a payment on-line and got an error message. I called and was on hold for over 16 minutes. When the representative answered, she refused to assist me stating that I was not an authorized third party on the account. I explained that I was authorized as I was on the Deed, techinally and legally, that makes me authorized. She then proceeded to put me on hold again, and transferred me to another representative who could not help me the issue of making a payment and again stated that I was not authorized on the account. I am and you are in the wrong by refusing to note the account as such. I asked to speak to your legal department and was not allowed so I then stated that I would be filing a complaint and your representative did not care. She said she had done her job. I beg to differ. I suggest you check your answers and legality of them and authorize me o the account. Your previous representative did after I say on hold for twenty minutes, is this what I should expect each time I call in?

Issue: Loan modification,collection,foreclosure

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2015, XXXX from XXXX contacted us and stated that they had worked out a modification with Freedom Mortgage. However, one of the requirements from Freedom was that we had to deposit 2 months of payments in a trust. XXXX had deposited the money to get the modification approved, but we had to replace it to be distributed to Freedom. Two payments in the amount of XXXX was drafted from our bank account. We were told by Monty that we would receive the modification paperwork by XX/XX/XXXX. But we never received any paperwork for a modification. We have requested a refund from XXXX, which was addressed to client relations. We were told in XX/XX/XXXX that we would get a refund within 45 to 60 days and we still have not received our refund of {$2700.00}. Subsequently, a second request has been sent to client relations, but no response. I am attaching the second request and the XXXX ruling. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. We had our VA representative to contact Freedom and he was informed that they had received a cease and desist from XXXX but nothing else.

Consumer Complaint: I bought an investment property in XXXX 2015. My original mortgage was serviced by XXXX XXXX. The house I bought was appraised at {$200000.00}, but the seller agreed to sell for {$200000.00}. I paid XXXX % of the purchase price and XXXX % was paid by lender. An Escrow should have been needed in this situation, however, I agreed to open an escrow to impound taxes and Insurance with the understanding that when I make 12 consecutive payments the escrow will be removed. The mortgage servicer transferred the loan to Freedom mortgage on XX/XX/XXXX, which was couple weeks after I made my 12th payment. The new services refuses to remove escrow and have cited incorrect reasons for not removing the escrow. ( attached is the letter denying my request to remove escrow ).

Issue: Loan servicing, payments, escrow account

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2016, we closed on a new house with a Mortgage from XXXX Bank and we made our first mortgage payment on time for XXXX XXXX, 2016. In late XXXX, I received a call from Freedom Mortgage saying they had purchased the mortgage from XXXX Bank. During this phone call, I asked multiple times where or who do I send my XXXX XXXX payment to and was told multiple times, I would skip my XXXX XXXX payment. I have since found out Freedom Mortgage has a recording of this call. On XXXX XXXX, 2016, I received a call from the collections agency of XXXX Bank ( now XXXX Mortgage ) informing me that my XXXX XXXX payment was late. After talking with the multiple people, in collections and customer service, I found there was no record of the mortgage transfer in XXXX 's system. As XXXX Bank just merged into XXXX, I was told later, it 's likely an error during the merger of the data from XXXX system to another. On XXXX XXXX, I also made multiple phone calls to Freedom Mortgage, the first XXXX people I spoke with again told me I did not need to make any XXXX XXXX payment, it was only until I spoke with a supervisor that I was told I did. I immediately disputed this and asked for them to pull and review the call. I also found out that a payment has been noted as being made to my mortgage account on XXXX XXXX, 2016 in Freedom Mortgage 's system which I did not make. I was very careful to ask, and asked repeatedly of Freedom Mortgage where to send my XXXX XXXX payment and was told repeatedly by multiple customer service representatives that I did not need to make this payment. The initial phone conversation with Freedom Mortgage made it clear to me that the loan had been sold and completely transferred to Freedom Mortgage as well. I took considerable effort and time in reviewing this issue with the Freedom Mortgage representatives before skipping a payment and was lead to believe by Freedom Mortgage that XXXX Bank XXXX XXXX no longer had any interest or ownership over my loan in late XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Freedom mortgage reported me late on my mortgage when I paid it on time. I paid it near the end of the month but not over 30 days late like it is now reporting on my credit report. This really harms me because I am going through a refinance with another lender and they are helping me save money on my payments. I feel like Freedom is doing this so that I have to stay with them as my servicer. The company that is helping me with my refinance and I have been in contact with Freedom at least over a month with no response.. we keep on getting the run around. My credit score due to this has dropped from XXXX+ to below XXXX which is ruining my credit.

Issue: Credit decision / Underwriting

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: Recently, we sold our home for a great profit - in hopes of purchasing a new property. Upon our application for a new mortgage it was discovered that Freedom Mortgage had given us XXXX late payment marks on our credit score, this made us ineligible for any mortgage loan program. After researching the issue, we 've discovered that Freedom adjusted our escrow payment, and did not appropriately notify us of those changes - as a result the consistent payment we had been making from our bank account was slightly less money than the new payment amount. We have never missed a monthly payment, once we realized what had happened we had adjusted our payment up to the correct amount, and again recently the escrow amount dropped, and we were not notified - so we spent a few months paying slightly more than we needed to. Freedom Mortgage is ruining our ability as a family to make large purchases, and handicapping our credit for the future.
