Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I am an XXXX XXXX XXXX in the XXXX and stationed at XXXX XXXX, KY. I am writing in regards to my rental property at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX XXXX, GA. I purchased the home with a VA loan and had a mortgage agreement with XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX ( " XXXX '' ). I arranged for payments to be made automatically from an account, and since buying the home have always been on time with payments with automatic payment system with XXXX. Apparently my mortgage was sole to Freedome Mortgage Corporation ( " Freedom '' ). I was unaware of the sale because I never received any type of notice from XXXX or Freedom of the change of companies. Not an email, phone call, or mailing letter. Because I was unaware of the sale of the different mortgage and another company was now managing the account, I continued making payments, form the automatic draft account to XXXX. As a result, Freedom apparently believed I was delinquent in making payments on my mortgage. Any notice from Freedom sent were never received by me and in fact, when notified of the foreclosure form my property managing team, I called Freedom and the representative clearly admitted to me on a recored line that all correspondence was returned to then unopened and marked " Return to Sender ''. Accordingly, I had no notice as to the status of my mortgage of Freedoms intentions. I received this information when my property management team, XXXX XXXX XXXX, forwarded me a notice from XXXX XXXX XXXX ( " XXXX '' ) apparently posted on the door of the property in XXXX XXXX. The noticed stated the property has been foreclosed and XXXX is now the owner. My property was taken by Freedom and conveyed to XXXX all without my knowledge. I have made multiple attempts to contact Freedom but as this date have not been able to resolve any assistance from Freedom or their Attorney team. I clearly failed to received any notice form the sale of the mortgage to Freedom, notice from Freedom of any alleged delinquency any foreclosure and any sale of my property. I am outside of the are due to my XXXX military status, see attached orders. I have suffered significant damages from this. I am also requesting a copy of all transactions made by Freedom since I was never notified and XXXX had my correct address. In summary, the opinion that foreclosed my property and selling the property without providing proper notice under these circumstances violated my rights under state and federal law. In attempt to settle this I will accept the following : - return title of met property by deed - reinstatement of the terms of my mortgage agreement - contact any and all credit reporting agencies to which any of your representative may have made a report on this matters and correcting the information provided to those agencies including but not limited tom my property not being foreclosed upon and mortgage account in good standing.

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX, i currently have a mortgage with freedom mortgage. I lost my j9b and became 2 months behind, i have been in loss mitigation for over a year, the company just before XXXX told me they had all documents and a decision would be in 30 days, never recieved that decision in writing or by phone. Last week i was notified they were missing documents, i sent them to the company and the week before i sent them other documents that they have requested, this has been going on for a year now, plus on top of that every month they include inspection fees. This month when i went to pay the mortgage i found the customer service rep to be extremely rude, i made my payment however she was very persistant about paying the behind payments, i told her we were working with loss mitigation.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX we mailed our payment in to Freedom Mortagage. The company had not posted our payment to our mortgage account by XX/XX/XXXX, so I had contacted the payment processing number for the lender. I was advised that on this date they had not received our payment due to it not showing in the system. I contacted them on XX/XX/XXXX as well with the same response from Freedom Mortgage. Finally on XX/XX/XXXX they had posted our payment to our account, but it had been initialed that it was received as of XX/XX/XXXX. This is not the first issue that we have had with severe delay in processing our payment. We were not charged any late fees, but due to being required to mail the payment in, it caused undue stress to my wife and I during the holiday season because we were worried if we needed to send in another payment or play the wait and see game. If I am seeing the correct information regarding this type of issue is that it is required to be posted the same day or the next business day after it is received.

Consumer Complaint: The problems began more than a year ago when I asked for a loan modification. I could not afford the payments as they stood. The loan modification was completed and granted, however, the payments on the mortgage loan increased causing further delay in making the mortgage. I called the mortgage company once I received the loan modification and was given a contact person to discuss the loan modification. I called and left messages 5 times to no avail, and did not receive a return call. We are now in a short sale situation and again, I am having issues with this company. I have asked on seven separate times, either through email, or personal contact by phone, for a payoff statement amount and a short sale package as we have a buyer for the home. My last contact with them was XX/XX/2019 and XX/XX/19. Both times I was told that I would receive my requested information by the end of the day, and both days I did not receive the requested information. I have read many customer reviews relative to complaints to this company and find their treatment towards me is typical. Last night, XX/XX/2019, I again called the company at XXXX XXXX and asked to speak to the manager. After an extremely long wait I did speak to a manager and was informed that Loss Mitigation needed further documentation from me, however they did not address my numerous requests. They requested that I provide them with a listing of the property and the sales contract, which they did not request after I contacted them 7 times ago. But it appears to me that if I don't provide them with the documentation they have requested, they will not send me the information that I need, sort of blackmailing me. I can not provide them with a copy of the sales agreement until I have the information that I initially requested. I have contacted my realtor and am waiting for a response from them. May of the complaints I have read indicated that the company consistently requests further information in the form of documents, thus slowing down the process, and I feel this is happening to me.

Consumer Complaint: Freedom Mortgage has applied my extra principal payment to escrow and has not corrected the issue in over 7 months. I made an extra principal payment of {$500.00} on XX/XX/XXXX which posted on XX/XX/XXXX as additional escrow payment. I contacted them ( representative name and I.D . number available ) around the XXXX or XXXX of XXXX upon reviewing XXXX statement, noting the above change. I was told that it would be corrected by XX/XX/XXXX. After reviewing the XXXX statement with no change, I contacted them again on XX/XX/XXXX ( representative name and I.D . number available ) and was told the issue would be corrected by XX/XX/XXXX. I again contacted Freedom Mortgage on or about XX/XX/XXXX requesting that the matter be resolved and to send me transaction history. The payment amount changed on my monthly statement for XX/XX/XXXX and there were no fewer than 16 transactions applying and reversing payments in regards to escrow, monthly principal and interest. The extra principal payment still has not been applied and the matter had not been resolved. I've called twice during XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with representatives trying to resolve this ongoing issue and patiently waited for results. Again, there are about twelve transactions applying and reversing payments without correcting the problem. Additionally, Freedom Mortgage has changed my monthly payment amount without notifying me and used funds applied to extra principal to pay changes in monthly interest without giving me notification. Concerning the loan, I have consistently made monthly {$500.00} extra principal payments since inception. By changing the monthly payment amounts during XX/XX/XXXXit has created a supposed shortage in the escrow account which in turn has changed my current monthly payment twice to a higher amount during XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I called into Freedom Mortgage for the last 2 weeks in hopes of getting a 6 month unemployment f/b due to the fact that I am unemployed. I am actively seeking employment and have a new job offer on the way. I was requesting the mortgage company speak with my girlfriend. I sent in a third party authorization several times. The company told me that it was received. I had my girlfriend call in on XX/XX/19 after speaking to XXXX at ID XXXX he told her he can't speak with her and hung up on her without any explanation. Freedom mortgage please review the call. XXXX was not knowledgeable, did not have basic information nor could he direct us to receive any information. We called back and spoke with XXXX at XXXX. XXXX verified the callers, received authorization from the account holder to speak with my girlfriend and proceeded to transfer us to loss mitigation to request an unemployment forbearance. Upon speaking with loss mitigation we spoke with a rep named XXXX XXXX who was less than helpful. XXXX did not appear to have knowledge on any of the products being offered. She proceeded to offer me a repayment plan in which I could make the full payment plus the arrearage spread out over 3 months. I kept explaining to her that not only could I not make the regular mortgage payment, there's no way I could get on a repayment plan until I am back working. She contradicted herself several times on what assistance could be offered. When I requested to speak with a supervisor she declined and said she would put in a request for an unemployment forbearance and I would have to wait 7 business days to see if I'm approved. In the meantime we have wasted weeks of our time with a servicing shop that is not knowledgeable and can not assist us with the help that we know is available to us. An unemployment forbearance is in place for borrowers who are unemployed. It's a short term assistance offer. At the conclusion of the forbearance the hope is that we may enter into a loan modification to cure the delinquency. At that time the borrower will be gainfully employed and able to make the mortgage payments and stay in good standing.

Consumer Complaint: My complaint is how an insurance claim is not being handled in a professional or perhaps ethical way. I filed a claim in XXXX for a broken pipe, the insurance company sent a 3rd party adjuster and a check made out to me and Freedom Mortgage for {$10000.00} ( copy of check attached ) the ins comp said to mail the check to Freedom who will endorse the check and return to me. I followed up with Freedom who said they would not release the check to me, until I sent them several documents. 1 ) Adjuster Claim, 2 ) Contractor signed estimate signed by me and contractor 3 ) signed contractor paid receipt for Monies already paid to the tune of {$6000.00}, 4 ) Signed Lien or mechanics lien 5 ) XXXX for contractor 6 ) letter requesting reimbursement of funds 7 ) copy of contractors License. After several days of follow-up they claimed they didn't receive the documents I sent them all again in one shot. I have attached all the documents listed above to this complaint so you can review also. They also said they would only send me 25 % of the {$10000.00}. The insurance company were insisting I do work on the house before anymore damage was done, I couldn't wait for Freedom to send the check, so I used my mortgage money payment to pay the contractor to do some of the initial clean up and preparation, and as a deposit. ( attached receipt ) I told them, if they are concerned, because now I am in default, they can keep {$5300.00} and send me the difference, that would cover 2 months mortgage payments, they refused ( all documented attached ) I need help getting my money, I am falling behind on my mortgage payments and I think they are doing this on purpose to force me into foreclosure. Please help.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2015 my Mom saw an ad in the newspaper. When I got home she told me about the ad in the newspaper about helping people buy a house or something like that. We decide to check it out so we go to the office. When we got there my mom explained the situation to him about getting a house & not having enough money to afford one etc. Then he said that we can make money from rental properties. He would put these properties in my name. He would find the properties himself, collect the rents from the tenants & pay the bills. He would do all the work. I just give him 2 paystubs and show up at settlement to sign the paperwork. He would give me the money to pay the mortgages every month. Things did not work out so I wanted to sell all the properties but he did not want to. Eventually I came to my boss about this situation and the guy who I was dealing with. My boss found out that this guy was an x-criminal. He was obtaining mortgages fraudulently using inncent victims. Operating Schemes. I believe in this situation he is doing the same thing. The companies involved are - Freedom Mortgage Loan numbers are XXXX & XXXX, XXXX XXXX Loan # XXXX, XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX & XXXX. ) Loan # XXXX & XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Account # XXXX.
