Consumer Complaint: I was shocked when I reviewed my credit report and found late payment on the dates below : XX/XX/2019 I am not sure how this happened, I believe that I had made my payments to you when I received my statements. My only thought is that my monthly statement did not get to me, or the payment was not applied as fast as expected. XX/XX/XXXX : Tax statement and XXXX rating letters received and accepted by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and Freedom Mortgage. Escrow Analysis conducted " check to be mailed out '' XX/XX/XXXX - current day ( XX/XX/XXXX ) 15 calls / scheduled call backs / inquires and still no refund of escrow. The company has promised payment numerous different times during these time periods. Freedom mortgages most recent stance on the issue is to pay a " phantom past due '' amount that the company states, they will have to " inquire '' to justify. I am a Veteran very confused with the legalities of my mortgage companies financial practices. Looking for help or next steps. The goal is to be refunded all owed monies in escrow that are no longer owed due to zero tax liability.

Consumer Complaint: I was referred to Freedom Mortgage Corporation by my current Mortgage company, XXXX XXXX XXXX for a streamlined FHA mortgage refinance and I submittted the application on XX/XX/2019 and I was advised that the loan would close within 30 days and that I would not have to pay my Mortgage for the Month of XX/XX/2019. After 30 days, Freedom Mortgage loan Agent will not take my calls or provide an update, I finally got referred to a supervisor who claimed that he will escalate the process and they re-issued another loan documents now stating that closed will now be for another 30 days. They have misled me not to pay my existing mortgage because the loan was closing and they have kept pushing and stringing me along with the approval process for the last 4 months and have now refused to process my application and I believe that the decision is discriminatory and meant to cause me to loose my home through a loan default.

Even every month when I pay my mortgage online, I have to dismiss ads about it before I am able to pay. Its getting ridiculous. I told them several times to take me off their call list and to stop bothering me about refinancing. Im not interested in refinancing and have told them this numerous times, they keep bothering me about this.

Consumer Complaint: We purchased our home in XXXX of XXXX through J.G. Wentworth and JG Wentworth continued as the loan servicer. The property purchased at XXXX XXXX XXXX has to county apn numbers : # XXXX and # XXXX. The property taxes were paid on one apn and not the other, although both are included in the mortgage paperwork. This information was brought to their attention two years ago after receiving deliquent tax notices from the county of XXXX, CA. This was again brought to their attention on XX/XX/XXXX via email with a confirmation saying the delinquent taxes were received. I received an email on XX/XX/XXXX saying that any deliquency would be paid by the company out of a corporate account. I called the company to confirm, and was informed that the taxes would be paid on XX/XX/XXXX. They wouldn't give me this information in writing by mail or email. I also requested an audit of our escrow account, because the escrow amount should have covered the deliquent taxes. Our loan was then transferred to a new servicer, Freedom Mortgage, effective XX/XX/XXXX. I immeditely sent the deliquent tax notices to the new servicer. The reviewed the infomation and assured me that the taxes would be paid on XX/XX/XXXX and that an escrow audit would be performed and sent to me by XX/XX/XXXX. Again, they wouldn't confirm this information in writing or give me a confirmation number. Freedom Mortgage has also added hazard insurance and an additional flood policy in addition to the homeowners and flood insurance that I already carry. I notified my flood policy agent ( XXXX XXXX of XXXX XXXX ) that the maximums of the policy needed to be increased, and they did increase them right away. I have received a letter again telling me to increase my flood policy maximums or they will obtain a policy for me. They are increasing my payment from {$1600.00} to {$1900.00} to cover this. It seems that they are adding things without my authorization or need and not paying the property taxes for the second apn. The deliquent taxes equal {$10000.00} with penalties. I just want the property taxes paid and I want to see where all of the escrow money has gone if it wasn't used to pay the taxes. I have not been late on payments and I have carried proper flood and home owners insurance since the inception of the loan. If this isn't remedied immediately, I will be forced to take legal action.

Consumer Complaint: Freedom Mortgage Corporation is running a scam on their existing customers in an attempt to get them to refinance. MidXXXXXX/XX/2019 Freedom Mortgage contacted me and informed me that I was a premier customer due to my account status ( never late with payments ) and as a reward they wanted to lower my interest rate by 0.2 %. All I had to do was refinance my loan and they would pay for all the costs - XXXX dollar out-of-pocket. When asked why they were doing this, their answer was that they wanted to keep me as a customer and not refinance with another company and reward me for being a premier customer. Bottom-line, they sent me through a refinancing exercise that ended up with a new loan amount that had a {$3900.00} increase over my current loan balance ( {$2700.00} of which covered the refinancing fees ). When I reviewed the final loan documents and noticed the {$3900.00} increase over the life of the note ( 287 months ) they responded by stating that actually I was no longer eligible for the loan due my retirement income stream and they were cancelling the application. Total scam. Wonder how many retirees are getting taken by this XXXX ...

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I moved back into the home at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Tx due to my ex-wife abandoning the house and letting it go into foreclosure. She had taken sole custody of the home in our divorce in XXXX. Upon moving in, I paid all the leins and began working with XXXX XXXX to modify the mortgage into my name only. I completed all the necessary paperwork to include filing a Quit Claim Deed with XXXX County signed and notarized by myself and my ex-wife giving me the house. During this time, XXXX XXXX transfered my file back to Freedom Mortgage, who was the original loan company. Because of the transfer, I had to completely begin the modification process over, which I did and submitted all the paperwork to Freedom Mortgage. Freedom sent my mortgage paperwork with my name only and I signed and sent it back as instructed. Fast forward 3 1/2 years and I look into selling my home and I find out the modification was never completed and they do not even have copies of the paperwork I submitted to them. I find out my ex-wifes name is still on the house. This has caused huge problems for me and my family. I completed everything I was instructed to complete, twice and it is still not taken care of. Every since I moved into the house in XX/XX/XXXX, I have not missed a single payment by a single day. Now I find out that my credit have multiple 180+ delinquent payments listed from XXXX from Freedom mortgage, which has cause my credit rating to go down. I have attempted contact with Freedom Mortgage several times and I can not get anyone to even call me back. I plan on selling this home and building a new home but I cant until this is cleaned up.

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: Trying to get a loan modification since XX/XX/XXXX after the birth of my son and loss of come from my late husband and myself being on maternity leave. Ive received miss-guided and missed leading information from the mortgage company which continues to delay my process. Ive struggling to get the mortgage to hear me out as I want to make things right. XX/XX/XXXX I was able to prove I can afford the mortgage and pay the mortgage but my non-owner occupied co-borrower ( who is my uncle in law ) refuses to comply so I could move forward with a modification. Prior to my husband passing away I was asked to get a quick claim deed ( XX/XX/XXXX ) only to be told that doesnt support my case, I was approved for a variance ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and I was approved for a modification and I completed my three month trial period ( XX/XX/XXXX ) only to be told in my final process of the modification my co-borrower would not be removed after being promised he would be removed with every phone call and conversation I had with representatives.XX/XX/XXXX I was told the reason my modification was not processed and completed is because I neglected to submit a copy of the variance approved by HUD. Is my understanding the mortgage company is typically supposed to request a copy of the variance. As of XX/XX/XXXX I was told the removal of a co-borrower is a case by case situation but my case does not grant that and I was also told it is to the discretion of the mortgage company to obtain a variance. I was told they are not obligated to obtain one especially because they dont feel my case was a necessary situation where they would have to remove my co-borrower. I asked why was I approved, why did they make me go through the trial period And pay money knowing my co-borrower was noncompliant from the very start of me requesting a modification ( in XX/XX/XXXX ) only to be told the company felt bad for me for two years and unfortunately that led to me being misinformed and miss guided throughout this process. I have made countless calls and requests to get answers and understand why am I receiving this type of treatment only to be told I could not speak with a manager or a supervisor and they could not provide me with appropriate information to file a complaint. To date I struggle with finding out how to reach out to corporate because I was told that is not something they have to share with me. I need help as Ive struggled to get help or accurate information well trying to file for a mortgage modification. My husband passed away XX/XX/XXXX and it has been my desire as well as my families to keep our home. Im determined to make things right and to pay but Im finding difficulty working with my mortgage company.

Consumer Complaint: I applied for a loan modification via FHA due to illness. I was approved. The problem is FREEDOM MORTAGE is supposed to update the lender. I found out via phone call on XX/XX/20 that I made, that the approval was completed on XX/XX/20. Freedom Mortgage is required by law to send pending lenders of modification an update via first class mail every 8 days. The agent I spoke to at Freedom Mortgage told me this was required by law. The last notice I received in the mail stated : we are doing a title search -- there is nothing more for you to do. They did this intentionally so that you fail or really struggle with the trial period. To date, I have NOTHING in writing about the payment, the new loan, rates, etc. etc. I called on XX/XX/XXXX to make this complaint and Freedom said, NO too bad start on XX/XX/XXXX anyway. I sent an e-mail to Loss Mitigation on XX/XX/XXXX asking for the XX/XX/XXXX start ( due to not notifying me ). I called today and Freedom will not do it. This is against the law.
