Consumer Complaint: I have made multiple attempts to contact XXXX, XXXX, and Experian regarding a XXXX account that appears on my credit report. As far as I understand, the law mandates that credit reporting agenies must ensure the maximum possible accuracy when reporting information. I have informed them that I do not recognize this account as it is currently presented. What's more, the account number differs across all three credit bureaus. While XXXX and Experian indicate that the account is in collections, XXXX states that it is 120 days late. Additionally, XXXX reports the last payment as XX/XX/XXXX, whereas Experian and XXXX state it was in XX/XX/XXXX. I am concerned that this account may have been improperly re-aged. The accumulation of these discrepancies and my numerous attempts to reach out to the credit reporting agencies to verify, rectify, or delete this account from my credit report is deeply troubling. As a consumer, we have the right to dispute information that we do not recognize as well as the credit reporting agencies have the obligation to thoroughly investigate a dispute and update, correct, or remove the information.
