Consumer Complaint: When I initially attempted to dispute the debt I didn't get any evidence that the debt was mine. Since I have been attempting to clean up my debt, I reached out to Midland Credit to start negotiations and found out the account was transferred to an attorney for servicing. I then brought in an attorney to advise me on negotiations, without retaining her for representation to the debt collector. She was only authorized to submit the offer on my behalf, not represent me through the entire process. Due to no communications from the original collection agency nor the attorney, I decided to pay the debts off just to clear these accounts. Every time I have tried to confirm if payment was received or to find out why my credit report hadn't been updated, they refuse to speak with me because it was flagged as me having an attorney. The attorney submitted a letter stating non representation to their attorney, but they still state I have an attorney they need to talk through. These accounts have been paid off for over a month and are still reporting as open and having a full balance on my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: Midland Funding, LLC aka Midland Credit Management is garnishing my wages for a time-barred debt that is no longer legally collectible and has not been legally collectible for some years now. I don't normally print out my paycheck stubs for work. When I did, I see that they are garnishing my wages and have been. Looking at my paycheck stubs, they stopped collecting and started back garnishing again. This illegal practice has now put me in a financial bind. I do not owe them anything and would like all of my monies rightfully returned to me. This company has already threaten me recently with a notification on their correspondence stating, " The law limits how long you can be sued on a debt. because of the age of your debt, we will not sue you for it. If you do not pay the debt, Midland Funding, LLC may continue to report it to the credit reporting agencies as unpaid for as long as the law permits this reporting. '' I interpret it as their company will continue to attempt to illegally collect on monies not owed and continue to negatively affect my credit score and livelihood until I pay.
