Consumer Complaint: I have been sending dispute letters since XXXX this year, and they never send me a legal verification. Last time I checked, companies are supposed to inform me before putting negative information on my credit report. Besides the fact that I have no idea who the company below is, this company has just put stuff on my credit report without even providing valid proof

Consumer Complaint: XXXX offered a promotion where they would give a {$25.00} credit to your first purchase if you sign up for their credit card. I purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$190.00}? Then I set up a recurring payment in my bill pay. So I paid {$170.00} with the recurring payments until the payment purchase was complete. Shortly after I paid off the loan, I started receiving bills from ( XXXX? ) at the time. I explained to them that I satisfied the terms of the purchase, however they proceeded to harass me with requests for payment. They sold the phony debt to Midland Credit XXXX agency. Although I explained to them several times I have proof that I completed the terms of the loan, they played games with me. They would say, " We will suspend the demand for payment temporarily and let you know what to do. '' They refused to allow me to send copies of the bank statement showing the proof of payment. It's amazing to me how credit card companies can escape accountability for acting like their customers have not paid what they actually paid.

Consumer Complaint: I was served back in XX/XX/XXXX about a debt and responded back. I then responded in the allotted time. I also submitted a request for production of documents which I never got a response to. I then sent a letter back in XXXX of XXXX stating I had never received a response and it had been 60 days. I asked them to drop the lawsuit since the process has not been continued. I never heard back. In XXXX of XXXX, I received a letter stating they had made an error and never responded. I then sent them a letter asking again to drop the lawsuit since it had been a year and a half with no response as well as their admission to not continue. I have had a few letters sent from them since then threatening to take this further and that I have no basis.

Consumer Complaint: This was a charge off from an old debt that midland credit purchased for Pennies on the dollar. They have been sending threatening letters stating that they will take me to court. On XX/XX/2022 I received a final notice stating that failure to reply will result in attorney review. Ive started the process of getting in touch with a public defender in my state but also know that this company has been taken to court many times due to violating the fair debt collections act. I also have paid some of this amount owed when they sent me a legal notice the first time about 2 years ago and have noticed that any past payments made are not reflected on my account. As this was a charge off many years ago and was reflected on my credit report I do not believe I owe midland credit any money as they purchased this old debt on their own will.

Consumer Complaint: Midland Credit sent all of my information via overnight mail to a lady in XXXX XXXX. The information that was sent contained all of my private information including my social security number. I learned of this because the person who received all of my information called me in XXXX to let me know about the incident. I just reviewed that voicemail today and learned that all my information was sent to her. I don't know who else has my information as they already sent it to one random person without my consent. They did not contact the address to find me and confirmed I lived there. They just sent my information with everything that an identity thief would need to ruin someone's financial future. I want to see if this is something that is common or not because I feel like my financial privacy has been violated without consent.

Consumer Complaint: A fraudulent account ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) was opened in my name sometime in XX/XX/XXXX. The card was charged off and went to a collection agency known as Midland Credit Company. The amount charged off was about {$620.00}. I filed a dispute directly with the collection agency, then with the Credit Bureaus ( all three of them too ), and also filed a Police Report for Fraud / Identity Theft. I sent the police report along with my dispute letter to the credit bureaus directly in XX/XX/XXXX. The credit bureaus have still failed to investigate anything and claims that this is still my account after sending them the police report. I want this off my credit reports as I am trying to align my credit up to apply for a mortgage.

Consumer Complaint: Midland Credit Management purchased an old disputed debt from somewhere and started to aggressively try to collect on it. They called on XX/XX/2022, XX/XX/2022, XX/XX/2022, XX/XX/2022, XX/XX/2022 and XX/XX/2022 with multiple calls through out the day to multiple people. They have started contacting my friends, my next of kin, with multiple call attempts through out the day to them, not just me. They have called from known numbers and from " Anonymous '' phone numbers. They have shared private personal financial information with third party about me, and about this old disputed debt. They have violated privacy laws. I have submitted complaint # XXXX and XXXX about this matter, but it seems that CFPB is not for protecting me, it is unacceptable. The main point of contestation is that Midland Credit Management representatives called and discussed my debt and the collection efforts with my next of kin. That complaint got lumped together with the other and there was no action or resolution to my satisfaction. The company responded by providing statements from the original lender. That is not what is the issue at hand. Yes, I have had dealings with the XXXX XXXX clothing store credit card. That is not what I was complaining about. The representative from CFPB sent me those and closed out the case after Midland Credit furnished those to CFPB. What about the infraction of federal laws that prohibit aggressive collections tactics, calling several times through out the day?? What about the prohibition of discussion of the matter with third-parties?? My rights have been violated and the only thing I got from CFPB is that Midland Credit dug up some old statements and sent them to CFPB. That is unacceptable. Yes I have had dealings with that clothing store and their credit card, but I disputed the amount owed with them directly when I returned merchandise to XXXX XXXX, and then disputed the amount owed when I was not given credit for refunds for the merchandise and clothing brought back to the store, that is all irrelevant for the complaint here... I am petitioning that CFPB levy fines for the infractions of violating federal law of privacy and the tactics. My friends and family can and will attest to the fact that Midland Credit representatives called and discussed the matter, back in XXXX when I was avoiding their calls and sending cease-and-desist letters. Their representatives violated my privacy and violated federal laws at that time.
