Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: Greetings! I am writing to inform you about a scam or phishing attempt. Even though I do not have any debt, I am getting phone calls with no messages left from Midland Credit and XXXX XXXX. I have not received any information from these companies. I learned these are debt buyers and collectors through an online search, including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) s website ( CFPB, 2015 ). I have reviewed my credit reports from all three Credit Bureaus and confirmed that I do not have any collection. Source : CFPB ( 2015 ). Consumer Complaint: I am disputing the negative items in my credit profile. I dispute these claims and demand that any information be removed from reports immediately if it is inaccurate or misleading, as this will only harm me further! Upon review of my report, I noticed that several deviations from mandatory standards were present which will most likely affect the validity and accuracy of data in this document. These claims that the information in my report is negative, untrue or incorrect are unsubstantiated. To date I have not received any physical proof to back up these statements and eagerly await a reply from you.Document that you have complied with the reporting requirements, and report without any deviations

Consumer Complaint: In early XX/XX/2023, I requested the following materials from Midland Credit Management : 1. A copy of the original purchase agreement which shows you legally own this debt by the original creditor. Not a letter stating you own the debt ; the actual agreement. 2. Copies of ALL statements from open to close of this account. 3. I want to see proof you are a legal debt collector in the state of New Jersey. A copy of your bond which shows you are legally registered in New Jersey. Anyone can state they are able to collect a debt in New Jersey. I did not receive the requested documentation. They sent me one statement.

Issue: Communication tactics
Subissue: You told them to stop contacting you, but they keep trying
Consumer Complaint: I have an old credit card debt that is with a debt collector and I have been paying on it for the past year or so. I have missed a few payments. So I wrote to the company and asked for my balance in writing only through email or US mail. They still attempted to call me. And they did receive my letter because I received a response back stating they received it and asking me to contact the office. At this time I want no verbal communication with the company only email or US mail. I would like to get the account taken care of so I need the information which is my balance that's all. And they do not list the information on the website but will glady take a payment.
