Consumer Complaint: In the summer of 2019, Discover Card put balance on my account of {$10000.00}. There is no origin or where it came from, I have contact them 30 times, spending sometimes 2 hours on the phone with a manager. Even though they tell me they will investigate and call back, no one does. I have written letters, requested they provide me written documentation on the origin of the balance that appeared on my account but crickets. No one has ever responded. The only thing I know is they call it a ghost balance. It doesnt appear on my statements. All my payments since then only are applied to the GHOST balance so my balance of {$11000.00} keeps growing because all my payments of {$400.00} are never applied to my real balance. I requested a ledger of the payments, I keep requesting an explanation, documentation and terms but I don't get any information. I keep asking for the origin of the money and how it landed on my account. I have paid {$400.00} to {$600.00} payments for 20 months and it is going towards a mysterious balance they won't tell me how it appeared on my account. If you call discover, all the people say they have heard about a ghost balance but there is no information they can resource or explain, it is a white elephant. I have a credit score of XXXX, my credit score is at the forefront of my mind. I pay my bills. I have never been involved in a lawsuit. No one has ever sued me. I don't have any pending litigation or nefarious dealings. I don't have credit debtors after me to collect money. There is nothing that this would stem from.

Consumer Complaint: Discover Home loan has continued to report our home equity loan as derogatory or delinquent depsite giving us a XXXX Forebearance plan. We have continued to pay the mortgage albeit after the grace period. For the past year we have at least 6 negative reports from XXXX XXXX which we were informed should not have been if we were placed on forebearance. This has in turn affected our credit score in a negative fashion. We are consequently being penalized for being affected negatively by COVID due to the loss of my husband 's job. Despite the fact that unemployment is less than what he would have earned if he was working in the XXXX XXXX we continued to keep the payments up to date and we were still reported by Discover as a dilinguent account. I complained to them when making a manual payment to them via check, but received no response.

Consumer Complaint: Discover is reporting erroneous lates on my credit file. These lates are from the month of XX/XX/20 I was experiencing hardship during COVID and received a few lates throughout that time that I was experiencing hardship. This was really damaging to my credit. I had high credit limits and all those were all brought down. So not only did my credit utilization skyrocket but with the lates my credit took a huge loss. I am asking that you to please remove the reported lates during the pandemic. I was in contact with you and let you know I was experiencing hardship. Under the federal mandate, CARES ACT, you can not report lates during the pandemic. I have been a long time customer and if you review my file you will see the only time I was late was during this troubling time.
