Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Card opened as result of identity theft or fraud
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2022 TO : Consumer financial protection board ( cfpb ) RE : Credit card theft by XXXX account registered under email address I am lodging a formal compliant of credit card theft against the payment system XXXX, aided and abetted by Discover card. I have accounts with both companies. I have the XXXX account ( under email address ) purely for an occasional convenience and rarely use it. But XXXX on about XXXX stole a credit card authorization on a Discover card I own. Prior to XXXX, I had received a couple of email notices from XXXX that a Discover card on my XXXX account was about to expire and that I should update the card which is all that the notices said. I ignored the notices as I wanted to let the card expire after which XXXX would no longer be authorized to use it. I never received a notice from XXXX detailing any consequences or actions the company would take if I allowed the card to expire. I NEVER AUTHORIZED A RENEWAL OF THIS CARD FOR THE XXXX ACCOUNT. Nonetheless, I received an email from XXXX on XXXX notifying me that it went behind my back with no authorization from me and updated this card to renew it. The XXXX notice is attached. Credit cards have expiration dates because payment agreements by customers are NOT perpetual with any vendors or payment systems. Customers carry the legal obligations of debts and by that they have full and total authority over any and all authorizations of credit with vendors or payment systems. NO XXXX actions can not be legal. When someone dies or is incapacitated or just no longer wants a previous payment arrangement, they have a right to have a financial charging agreement die with the expiration dates. Their cards can not be endlessly renewed and/or charged by a vendor of any type. I do plan to completely terminate my account with XXXX. But if I do that before this theft complaint is investigated, XXXX could claim that I never had an account. This is a HORRIBLE, NIGHTMARE company that makes customer complaints disappear and preys on consumers. Respectfully submitted

I explained I received an adverse action letter pursuant to 15 USC 1681 m from discover where it was discrimination towards me in the process. I know who I am as the consumer and original creditor and discover is civilly liable for discriminating against me according to 15 USC 16918 and denying me an extension of My Own Credit in a consumer credit transaction. This supervisor is it a violation of the law pursuant to 15 USC 1611 buy also willingly and knowingly giving false and inaccurate information. I recited multiple laws under the truth and lending that discover company must abide by and this female supervisor simply ignored the law as well as showed a negative attitude and raised her voice in the negative manner towards me. I am extremely upset at the supervisors Behavior towards me and I believe that she should be reprimanded for her actions and discrimination towards me. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I sent a chat to Discover asking for a rate review as the rates kept increasing with no late payments or other negative activity. I didnt hear from them about the review but received a notice my account was closed. On XX/XX/XXXX I attempted the same approach via chat to inquire about reactivating my account. The representative stated they could not open again and I must reapply. She stated the primary cardholder closed the account. I am the only cardholder and I did not request it closed. I asked to file a complaint which she stated she did but couldnt give me a complaint # to reference. I have screen shots of the conversation.

Consumer Complaint: This letter is for me to try and explain my dispute with XXXX XXXX, XXXX. On or around XX/XX/2021 XXXX XXXX called me and stated that the Federal Government was behind a program to go after credit card companies for taking advantage of senior citizens. she proceeded to explain to me that as an example $ XXXX balance could turn into a XXXX $ XXXX and five years to pay. she showed some other examples I didn't have time to write down. Then she said that all this credit card debt would be totally written off by the card companies within 18 months and that although my credit would go way down, that within 18 months it would rebound to be even better than what it was at this time. She went on to state that their fee for their services would be {$7300.00} and that I should get that money from Discover Card ( on the account ending in XXXX ) and that that amount would also be written off by Discover Card. I had to hand write everything she was saying because it was all over the phone. I never received anything in writing from XXXX XXXX XXXX. I had three differnt people that were to be taking care of my file, first XXXX, then XXXX and then XXXX. Neither of these persons ever answered phone calls or emails, no communication what so ever. The {$7300.00} charge was done thru XXXX XXXX XXXX, ADDRESS XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX XXXX, TN XXXX, phone number ( XXXX ) XXXX. All I've asked Discover Card is to charge XXXX XXXX back for the {$7300.00}, XXXX XXXX is a part of XXXX XXXX as well as XXXX XXXX XXXX, all three are part of this scam and use different names so you can't get ahold of anyone of them!
