Consumer Complaint: I had a problem intentionally getting the vehicle from the dealership as the term started and it put me behind two months. I have filed a complaint that was ignored. So I took Ownership and continued the payment. Every time I make a payment I would get calls all day everyday even at work and school. It became overwhelming. I told them to stop calling me and the calls stopped for a little under a month. Just recently the harassment calls started again. Now I want to pursue legal charges.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days
Consumer Complaint: Credit Acceptance Corp reported my husband and I 30 days late on both of our credit reports. I called to ask them what happened because I had made a payment and it posted to my account and I had a confirmation number. Credit Acceptance traced the payment to our 2nd car loan account and found that the payment had been placed on the wrong account. Well our insurance also just paid off that 2nd car due to an accident from all the horrible snow we have gotten. Credit acceptance said that even though the payment went to the wrong account they couldn't open that account again and place it o the right account because the account was paid off and closed now. I spoke with a XXXX from Credit Acceptance and she said that she was placing a note on our file that her supervisor told her for us to dispute it and then when it is investigated the can let the credit company know what happened and that it was not late. Well we disputed it our dispute came back today saying that credit acceptance told the credit bureaus that it was true and accurately reported as past due. So obviously whoever did the investigation is just horrible at their job and not very thorough or the person working at Credit Acceptance didn't look into our file to see the notes they said they had placed. Either way, this company has violated our FCRA rights and is making false allogations because they can look into their system and see that our payment was made in to the 2012 XXXX XXXX account not the XXXX XXXX account like we said and then see the notes from previous phone calls that they are supposed to be taking as part of their jobs. They also said the call was recorded so there are those records as well.

Consumer Complaint: I was sold a vehicle that stop running and required a lot of maintenance after a few months. When approved I was advise nothing was wrong with the vehicle, also the inspection was up to date. I constantly tried returning the vehicle but no luck. I was advised by Credit Acceptance Corp that if I did a voluntary repo they would have someone come get the vehicle, resell it, and not report it to any credit bureaus. This voluntary repo is being reported to all 3 CRAs and the information being reported in inaccurate. There are also 2 tradelines on my reports for this account and both are reporting different, and inaccurate information. I also disputed, and sent 2 dept validation letters and received no response. It has been passed 30 days and by law this debt must be removed, or addition action will be taken.

Consumer Complaint: Good evening. I purchased a vehicle in XXXX of 2015. The finance company is Credit Acceptance Corporation. The original price of the vehicle was {$6400.00}. I put down {$3000.00} After providing my downpayment, as I went to sign my finance papers, I was informed that XXXX adds an extra {$2000.00} onto the price of the vehicle for their " lending service fee ''. Then, on top of that, since it made the loan more than what the vehicle is worth ... I was required to pay them a MANDATORY GAP insurance payment that was included in my monthly payment. Now, I understand that a higher finance rate is acceptable when starting over to rebuild your credit. But I have since found out that XXXX has been sued and found guilty in many states due to their " lending fee '' as it is considered predatory lending. Not to mention, GAP insurance is voluntary. I would not have even needed it if not for their {$2000.00} " lending fee ''.

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX I'm writing in to file a complaint for identity theft. In XX/XX/XXXX a car loan was taken out in my name that i didn't take out. The only car loan that I have ever had was opened in XX/XX/XXXXthrough XXXX XXXX. This identity theft incident happened in XX/XX/XXXXwhen I put an ad out on XXXX to sell my furniture. I was relocating to XXXX, Ga. I filed a police report on XX/XX/XXXX because the person that bought the couch from me from XXXX had robbed my house of some goods and money. The attached police reports tells what happened. When I filed the police report I didn't know that the suspect had also stolen my Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, and state issued ID along with the other goods. I did not know about credit as I didn't have any need. I had bad credit from credit cards that I had in college and thought my credit was so bad that no creditor would even give me credit. In XX/XX/XXXXI was interested in the possibility of purchasing a house so I went to credit company to help. I didn't sign on with the company until XX/XX/XXXX and thats when I first was made aware that my identity had been stolen. Not only the car loan but it was also a XXXX XXXX bill and some other items that was on my report that were not opened by me. The company filed disputes to all three bureaus. I had went to get a police report from XXXX county but I wasn't sure of the dates of the first incident. Two of the three credit bureaus took the times off that were not my accounts but XXXX didn't take it off. Through XXXX I disputed twice. In XX/XX/XXXX I was in XXXX for the holidays and I went to get a copy the of the police report I initially filed and filed another police report about my stolen identity. I sent this information to XXXX and I contacted Credit Acceptance. Credit Acceptance said they would send me a fraud kit and never did. XXXX even with the police reports did not remove the account. Then I received a letter from Credit Acceptance that says it was no fraud. Im very frustrated my interest rates are sky high and I have been denied several times because of this account. Can you please help me. Thanks XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I talked to a CSR around XX/XX/XXXX about spreading my payment out over a year because I needed to do major repair on my car and the rep and I kinda went back and forth about how to handle making the payment I wanted to be sure that I won't be reported late and she did let me know it wasnt in the contract to do that what she could do is allow me to spread the payment but what she didnt warn me of that my payment would be reported late every month until I paid all the money I owed, so 4 months later and I'm still being reported late. I made the last payment on XX/XX/XXXX that made me current on all payments and then on XX/XX/XXXX I received a notice from XXXX saying I was 30 days late again I really need this to be resolved I'm also in the process of buying a home so your help is greatly needed and I have proof of all payments and, I also need to make it clear that up until this time I've never missed a payment and if I had known that it would be reported late I would have agreed to this atrocity.

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/ my vehicle was repossessed and I was verbally told I can redeem it as long as I paid a certain amount by the XX/XX/XXXX. I in fact paid it and was then told I needed a release to obtain my vehicle back. After several calls I finally received the release but when I called the auction where my vehicle was being stored for whatever reason they kept telling me they were closed, never received the release and I have to call several days later to make an appointment to retrieve my vehicle back. It now is days later and after several calls to the lien holder I still have no vehicle and since have lost my job since I have no way to work. Also I never received the statuory proper notices by mail per the NJ repo law stating they repossessed the vehicle.
