Consumer Complaint: Me and my wife went into XXXX XXXX to return several pair of pants which she purchased previously. When we got to the service counter my wife took out her credit card as did I also for the credit process. The lady who was waiting on us told us that she did not need the credit card to process the return. At that time I thought that I had put my credit card back in my wallet, but in actuality I probably dropped it. When we got home I was looking in my wallet for something and realized that my credit card was not there. It was gone??! I immediately called Sears MasterCard and reported the incident. I asked the lady that I was speaking to if there was any charges made on the card, which would have told me that someone else had found it and used it, and she said that {$950.00} had been charged on the card, unauthorized by me!!! I was flabbergasted that someone could have used my card in such a short time, I have been a Sears MasterCard holder for 50 years and find it hard to believe that they would think that I go to all this trouble for a mere {$900.00}. I am a XXXX and would never think of taking something that does not belong to me.

Consumer Complaint: I was a victim of fraud in XX/XX/2022 and reported it to Citibank. I was told to go into the branch so that they could close and open a new acct for me as a measure against fraud. My previous acct had a line of checking plus of {$1000.00}. Due to the fraud hitting my credit score for multiple reasons, ( Citibank, Amex credit card and XXXX ) my credit score was lowered. During this entire process I was assured I would be approved for the overdraft. Turns out, the managers at the XXXX Citibank in XXXX, lied to me by providing misinformation. They are not authorized to tell customers if they will get approved for certain products as this was the case in my situation. Overdraft is given SOLELY on credit score and given my score took a hit during this fraudulent activity there was no way the managers should have ensured me that everything would be the same.

Consumer Complaint: Its clear to me after not being approved by CITI several times, that for some reason, they are blocking me. And that is discrimination. My XXXX XXXXXXXX AAdvantage card in XXXX was a noteworthy account then changed to Platinum Select Card.XXXX XXXX, it continued to be noteworthy. In XX/XX/XXXX, I paid my {$99.00} membership from the bill I received from CITI. But something happened with the account on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, when I paid my annual membership fee of {$99.00}. There was a credit balance XXXX {$99.00}. On XXXX XXXX, I received a {$99.00} refund check. But the account should not have been closed. Request you review my account and see what negative comment is listed that is causing these problems. Since then, Ive tried several times to re-open the account but CITI WAS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL and they gave me a verbal negative short response. So I applied several times for a new XXXX XXXX AAdvantage Program and was denied by CITI both times. I would think a long and up-standing XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX be treated much better than this. After a thorough review of my credit report provided by XXXX, there are only positive comments. All reflecting that I pay my debts on time and that I pay more than monthly amounts. I did not include my husbands income, but since his new car is listed, you need to increase our annual income to $ XXXX. We have XXXX house that is paid in full, and another house that is paid in full but has an equity loan of $ XXXX. I did not include his information for he is already in the Advantage Card program. He has his card for his travel interests, and I have mine for when we do not travel together. XXXX trying to purchase an XXXX XXXX ticket for XXXX, but this is holding me up from doing that. Discrepancies with the credit report - XXXX address that are listed that are not mine. I never resided at : XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Id never live in XXXX ) and XXXX XXXX XXXX. Consumer Complaint: Citibank has unlawfully kept {$9500.00} of my money. The most recent attempt to resolve this matter was thru phone with Citibank 's Executive Office on XX/XX/XXXX. They confirmed my checking account had been closed on XX/XX/22 and the balance was {$0.00} at the time of closing. Citibank has been unable to provide an explanation as to the destination of the money or whether this amount is ever going to be repaid to me. I opened a checking account with Citibank on XX/XX/22. The available balance on this account as of XX/XX/22 was {$9500.00}. Upon accessing my account online, their system notified me that my account had been blocked. I reached out to Citibank more than XXXX times and spoken to more than XXXX employees in their customer service and fraud departments, and executive office, visited their retail branch, spoken to one of their bankers and the manager at their branch.

Consumer Complaint: The problem is too big and systemic for Customer Service to be useful, hence filing this complaint with the CFPB. We have a Costco Anywhere Visa Card By Citi. My husband changed his " cash advance PIN '' for the card on the Citi website. A week or two later, we received a letter dated XX/XX/2022 entitled " Confirmation : Your PIN has been issued '' with the PIN number that he chose printed twice on it. The problems : ( 1 ) the customer-chosen PIN number is not encrypted, making fraud a lot easier ( makes us wonder : what else is not encrypted? ). ( 2 ) the company printed our PIN and mailed it back to us, which is a big privacy concern.

Consumer Complaint: I have been a Citibank costumer for the past XXXX plus years. I was recently the victim of bank fraud in the form of XXXX stolen checks. Thanks to a very supportive and resourceful employee at my local branch I was able to recoup the amount of XXXX of the checks fairly quickly. Getting back the second check 's funds ( {$2100.00}, made to XXXX XXXX, cashed XX/XX/2022 ) however, has been a nightmare. Citibank maintains they are fully insured against fraud, and that this check is part of the same problem we had with the other one, but they have refused to issue provisional funds to my account while they conduct the investigation. In fact, they been stalling me for XXXX plus months -telling me that the process is now in the hands of XXXX XXXX XXXX -a financial institution I have no relationship with whatsoever, and that therefore has no interest in resolving the matter. When I call Citibank costumer service for updates they tend to be not only unhelpful, but rude and dismissive. The paperwork I receive, via e mail ad snail mail, on the case is irrelevant or, even worse, promotes Citibank 's other services. The personnel at the branch, on the contrary, tries to help. But all their promises to follow up go nowhere as it turns out they really have no direct access to details of what is going on and to the person charged with investigating my case. They are powerless by design, just like I am. In the middle of this Kafkaesque corporate scenario, I have been paying bounced checks penalties ( the account had to be closed so payments that were out were rejected ) and late payment utilities fees, while XXXX XXXX is charging me interest on the missing {$2100.00}. It's really hard to believe that the financial institution in charge of protecting my funds and my interests is doing such a poor job at both. The functioning of their fraud operations seems hill conceived to the point of adding burden to the victim, rather than helping her/him restore what was stolen.

Consumer Complaint: I returned 9 bottle of recall products " XXXX XXXX XXXX they only refund me 7 of them on XXXX XXXX, 2022 in XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX. I got total XXXX amount back for only 7 products but two products was missing. They told me when they scan the product it does NOT show the receipt it was returned but it shows it was processed return in their system but they can not refund because I purchased online. They told me that 2 of them will be refund by Bloomingdales.com because it was purchased online. I spoke next day or in 2 days with Manager name XXXX. She told me don't worry Bloomingdales.com will refund me by credit card or send me by check by how I originally paid for. I spoke to several people on Bloomingdales.com I spoke to Lead Supervisor from Macys/Bloomingdales customer service named XXXX her Id # XXXX, she is located in Texas. She said she was going to follow up with Manager XXXX and follow up with me and work on my case. Last time she left me a voice message on XXXX XXXX saying she will follow up with me on XXXX XXXX and never heard back from her again. It is really frustrating that no one is giving me proper refund back for two missing item. It was considered stolen by Bloomingdales.com for keeping in their possession without refunding me. I would like to communicate through email.

Consumer Complaint: I had a joint Citibank checking account with my wife, who recently passed away. I wanted to add my 2 adult children to the account so that they could have access to money if something happened to me. Adding my daughter was OK, but they would not add my son, who lives with me, on the account although he had his passport, social security card and a credit card offer from a different bank mailed to him at our address. He also had his Citi credit card issued with his name on it for which he is an authorized user ( I am the primary on that account ). He has a NY Lerners permit, but due to his mother 's XXXX and ultimate demise, he did not take the drivers test and it expired a couple of months ago. I have been banking with them for 35 years, have a considerable amount in my accounts and was only trying to take care of my kids. Since he lives with me ( and I pay the bills ), there are no statements mailed to him at our address. Is it true that Citibank can not add an adult child as an authorized signer on an existing checking/savings account without " proof '' of address, even if it is the address of the primary account holder?

Consumer Complaint: Citibank XXXX services requires that I activate my retirement account in order to roll it over into another institution. This is they make the account activation process almost impossible to complete successfully without require to provide them with an extensive amount of sensitive PII information. They have received my drivers license, employee information details, bill payments details and all the personal information they require in the form including tax information. All of this so I close an account I no longer want. Now they are asking for my Social Security Card which I dont feel comfortable providing because multiple of the customer reps I've spoken weren't able to tell me how they securely handle my private information to prevent compromise.
