Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: Since XX/XX/2022 we've have unauthorized debits to our Citi business account. It started slowly with very small amounts until it became very noticeable around the month of XXXX I reported the fraudulent transactions to our bank on XX/XX/2022. Our bank referred us to the customer service phone number which is not an American company. The representatives had a lot of difficulty communicating with us. We asked Citibank if we could work with someone in the US to get help with our account they said no it all had to be done with a non US company. As of now we have gone back and forth with their customer service company at least a couple times per month and we have gone into the local bank branch to get help. I have all documentation to support our efforts. They have told us to deal with the actual vendors which we have tried to do and they have also denied our claims even though they have all the supporting information that clearly indicates we did not authorize these transactions. The vendors tell us it's the bank 's responsibility. They even gave us the names of the people stealing from our account. The bank has also credited and debited our account so many times I have no clue where we stand. I have emailed our branch manager many times and stopped in I have even been asking our bank manager for a reply since XXXX and I just recently got a response from him. He reluctantly agreed to a meeting with us, but did email a message stating that he has spent too much time on this matter. The bank has made it very clear that they are not willing to help us and they have made our account such a mess by the debits and credits that I have no clue currently what they owe us. I am sure that it is several thousands of dollars. Additionally, if you see the correspondence they have sent us in the mail you would have no confidence in their ability to run a business. I have that correspondence as well. If someone can please advise us how to get this resolved. Thank you in advance for your help with this matter.

Subissue: Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I woke up and saw that I got a credit alert. I quickly checked my XXXX account and to my surprise there were two hard credit inquiries that had been put that same day. One was an installment loan or new bank account inquiry from CITICARDS on XX/XX/XXXX The other was a BANK/CREDIT INQUIRY from XXXX also XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. I did not ask for a loan or any credit check from these companies. I have not applied to a line of credit in a while as Im already paying off current debt. Luckily I caught it early and disputed the inquiries and put a fraud alert on my XXXX account. Please investigate this further

Consumer Complaint: I filed a legitimate dispute for two transactions for {$660.00} and {$640.00}. The Merchant after 2 months resolved the dispute and credited my credit card account the unauthorized charges. The dispute was resolved. And over with. Citibank employees in their Security Department open up fraud claim for {$900.00}. They did this without my consent and without my knowledge. When I became aware of this and advised them to stop! Citibank sent the Police to my home based on false accusations that my credit card account is in collections and I made a threat! All blatant lies! Citibank shutdown my credit card in numerous occasions without sending me a letter stating the reason why they closed down the credit card! Citibank employees impersonating me sent documents to all 3 credit bureaus stating falsely, my credit cards were obtained through identity theft and fraud! Another egregious lie told by Citibank. Citibank closed my account without any justification and falsified my accounts notes! Citibank opened a fraud claim for transactions I never had any issue with! I never requested for Citibank to open a fraud claim but they did and then closed my account! All of Citibanks egregious actions towards me and harassment was intentionally done because I am a XXXX American woman and I have no rights in America. Citibank needs to be held accountable for their unlawful actions and harassment towards me! I am an able bodied Adult who can make my own decisions about my credit card. Citibank has caused me great financial hardship! By snatching and closing my account I am unable to pay for items that my home needs to function. They took away my credit card for no reason except they wanted to hurt me financially because of my Race! My account was in good standing and I paid my monthly bill on time and was never late! Citibank took {$4000.00} away from me and my family and it was all done because I am a XXXX woman. Citibank Reported derogatory information to the credit bureaus all to ruin my good credit status! They lied and stated my account has late payments! Thats a lie I never paid late on my credit card. Citibank harassment and abuse is ongoing and I want back my credit card and for Citibank to leave me alone!

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I responded to a promotion to open an account at citi bank.It said If you open and fund an account and keep it open about 2 or 3 month you will receive a bonus based on the amount. It said you could withdraw some of your money but then your bonus would be smaller or XXXX based on your deposit amount. I opened and funded the account with $ XXXX which I transferred from my account at XXXX. Then I needed some of the money, so I transferred $ XXXX back to my XXXX account. I then received and Email from citi that I have violated the bank rules and so my account will be closed. It did not say what was the violation. it said the closing of account can take up to 2 month! and if I need the money sooner I should call their XXXX number or go to a branch. I decided to send the remaining $ XXXX to my broker account at XXXX XXXX which I did and money was send to XXXX. I was glad I was done with citi, such a bad experience. But the next day money was gone from my broker account. I called them they said citi has recalled the XXXX. I said its my money I did not ask for or approve this transfer. They said citi told them I have done some sort of fraud and they have to have the money back. based on that XXXX also disalowed my trading! I called the citi XXXX number, they could not tell me why they have a right to hold my money. I also went to their branch in XXXX XXXX, again they just gave me wrong and useless direction. and finally I was told nothing I can do. the bank will send you the money when they want, could be 2 month! The have ruined my reputation with my broker. They have held on to my money for no reason illegaly. I have been treated like a criminal whiteout any explanation. Obviously the bank has made a mistake. I need my money immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I was shopping for a handbag at Bloomingdales Valley Fair in XXXX XXXX, California on XX/XX/2023. I found a handbag I liked that cost {$2400.00}. The sales associate told me that if I applied for their store credit card and purchased the handbag with the card, I would receive 20 % off the retail price in the form of a credit and I would see the credit on my credit card statement. The sales associate even tried to persuade me to buy the matching wallet because my credit of roughly {$500.00} would almost pay for it. I did not purchase the wallet but I made a mental note so I would know how much to look for on my statement. When I received my statement, I was only credited {$270.00}. I called Bloomingdales credit card services on XX/XX/2023 to report the error and request a credit for the remaining amount. I was told that the sales associate provided misinformation and that there was a limit of {$250.00} for the credit card promotion. This really didnt make sense since I was credited {$270.00}. They offered to credit me another {$10.00}, which is well below the amount I am owed. They did not resolve this issue. They also told me this is a common complaint they receive because many other customers have been deceived by sales associates offering this same credit card promotion.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX purchased a dining table from Macy 's for {$3000.00} on XX/XX/XXXX -The purchase was placed on a Macy 's credit card and was eligible for a 0 % apr rate for 12 months -After taking delivery, I planned on paying off the purchase before the promotional period was over. After I randomly audited my Macy 's credit card portal, I learned that I am being charged a variable interest rate ranging between 28 % and 31 % apr ( this equates to approximately {$90.00} in interest ), which should have never been charged. XXXX reached out to Macy 's credit card customer service and was told that the individual who created the purchase order did not setup the promotional apr as part of the order. -The resolution provided by Macy 's credit card customer service XXXX that they will reverse XXXX and XXXX ( 2 months ' worth of interest payments ), and I would still be liable for the other 4 months ( XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX ) and any future interest. -Please use the call I placed to Macy 's credit card at XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX and spoke with XXXX and her supervisor, customer reps at Macy 's credit card as a reference or evidence. Consumer Complaint: In follow up to the last response you are inaccurate. There was a XXXX XXXX produced from Citibank this year XXXX despite having one department closed there are many others you speak of. This is out of line for a lender not to have original documentation of a loan The bankruptcy paperwork was sent along with the last complaint. There is no loan referenced " XXXX '' So there is a problem here for you to identify the loan. XXXX XXXX XXXX dispersed the loan only. You are responsible for having the documentation. Where does it say I am moved in the primary position after XXXX XXXX Bankruptcy It is not private when I sent you the information and you have not identified your loan. Unless you reference precisely the loan in the bankruptcy which leads me into first position then I suspect you made an error issuing the loan in the first place and there is also an error in how you followed protocol that may be wrong. XXXX denies in current court proceedings this loan exists after XXXX as she paid it off. This loan you speak of is my own loan originated without XXXX. So how do you answers now. If it is a manual check where is the signature on the check? Paperwork? The issue is larger and your are creating irreparable harm to me Please respond with the correct paperwork to prove my identity on the loan and the issued check. XXXX XXXX XXXX does not keep these records and relies upon you to do your due diligence I was involved in your bankruptcy account listed in your last response and you are unable to substantiate this The account numbers do not match the bankruptcy file Please do so immediately. and the exact dollar amount What is the account number with XXXX and when did the company received the loan servicing agreement?
