Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to get this stuff figured out since XX/XX/2023. I had 2 erroneous late payments thrown onto my credit report, that has seriously damaged my credit and my reputation. After alot of investigating and phone calls we finally came to the conclusion that Citi Bank is the company in charge of Best Buy 's store branded credit cards. And they are the one 's who committed this HUGE reporting error on my credit report. Please see the attached document directly from best buy that proves my case to be correct. Not only did I cancel a subscription that i never signed up for, but i was also refunded the full amount of this hidden subscription that they gave me ( XX/XX/2023 ). In XXXX and XXXX of XXXX Citi bank again violated me by placing a 30 and 60 day late payment on my credit report, for the subscription that was canceled back in XXXX of XXXX. How can a company of this magnitude make such a huge mistake? I've lost sleep, had to put buying a house on hold, and the worst part is that nobody has helped me.

Consumer Complaint: A few months ago, some department at Bestbuy credit card deactivated my credit card without telling me any reason. I have been paying off my debts. It can not be because of my credit, so I wont talk about that. What's even more disgusting is that they recorded my past due situation directly in the file of the XXXX XXXX XXXX, causing my credit to drop inexplicably. No one ever told me why I deactivated my credit card, and no one told me that my credit card debt was recorded in the XXXX XXXX. This is ridiculous! I can not accept it.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX was transferred from my saving account to my checking account by scammers passing as XXXX that hacked our computer and I was told that XXXX sent {$42000.00} by mistake as they were attempting to give a credit for {$420.00} on my checking account at Citibank. I was unable to verify where this money came from because the computer went blank. They gave instructions to send {$41000.00} to a scammer 's bank account : XXXX XXXX XXXX NY at XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I told them that it was between XXXX and Citibank to get the funds back. They got very abusive over the phone. I went to the bank on my way to a doctor and instead of asking for the balance in my savings account, I gave the instruction to send the money via money transfer. At the doctor 's office I realized that the money must have been from my savings account and I went back to the Citibank branch within an hour and told them to recall the transfer. I stopped talking to the scammers and never gave them the reference number of the transfer. After running around all over the place following the instruction of another scammer passing as the security officer of XXXX ; this person came to the telephone when I attempted to call XXXX When I got home, I realized that this guy was another scammer. My sons and I immediately called Citibank, New York that night to recall again the fraudulent transfer. The bank representative on the line said that the wire transfer was being recalled and the funds will be frozen. However, Citibank was negligent because I feel that they did not recall the funds on the XXXX but the following day XX/XX/XXXX and did not request XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX to freeze the funds. It was until 20 days later XX/XX/XXXX that they scalated it to fraud. They were nonchalant about freezing the funds and flagging down the transaction. They claimed that they elevated it to fraud on XX/XX/XXXX. We reported it to the FBI in writing on XX/XX/XXXX as fraud and went again to the Citibank branch to report it on XX/XX/XXXX and over the phone the bank officer told Citi New York it was fraud and proceeded to close the account and open a new one. My XXXX sons and I continued to call Citibank every other day to see if they had informed XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX that the account was opened for Money laundering the funds obtained from hacking. I wish that if Citibank New York was not going to inform the XXXX XXXX. XXXX about the fraud, they should have informed us and given a phone number to call XXXX and tell them to freeze the funds. We tried contacting XXXX XXXX directly but too many days have passed and they refused to talk to us telling us to contact their Holding Company. Citibank said thank you for sending the affidavit on XX/XX/XXXX, even though they never requested an affidavit from us and therefore, we never sent XXXX. The officer at the branch showed me the written message sent to Citi New York on XX/XX/XXXX for the second time after recalling the transfer the previous day and it clearly stated fraud.

Consumer Complaint: I visited a Best Buy store a few weeks ago to apply for a Best Buy credit card from Citibank. The employee conducted a credit check to determine my eligibility for the card. After completing all the necessary steps and running my credit report, we received the results within 4 to 5 minutes, which unfortunately showed that my application was not approved. According to the Fair Credit and Reporting Act, I have the right to be informed if any information from my file was used against me. If a credit report or consumer report is used to deny credit, insurance, employment, or take any other adverse action, the person or entity must disclose the agency 's name, address, and phone number that provided the information. Citibank failed to comply with the law by denying me a credit card without providing a reason. I am seeking the name of the furnisher responsible for this adverse action so I can pursue a tort claim against them for denying me credit without justification. This is not a representation but a warranty of fact. An adverse action was used against me in the act of trying to obtain credit using my own credit through my social security number that states that the social security number is an unlimited credit up to {$25000.00}. So, why am I getting denied to use a partial of my unlimited credit?

Consumer Complaint: I made a purchase of XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. I made a payment of XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and another payment of XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX to cover this payment. The payment was applied towards my flex payment plan instead. I made another purchase of {$2300.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. I paid XXXX on XXXX and XXXX to cover this charge but the payments went towards my flex payment plan. Ive called and chatted with citi in an attempt to inform citi that I wanted my flex payment plan to remain and for the payments to be applied towards my recent purchases. There a language barrier and I keep getting generic empathy responses but my issues remains unresolved. I now have over XXXX in charges that will accrue high interest rates because the intended payments didnt post accordingly as I thought they would. The only option that I am left with is to create 5 new flex payment of XXXX each which will result in a payment of {$200.00} being applied vs my {$77.00} payment due currently. Im not for sure how to get this resolved and citi doesn't seem to care because they will receive more money from the interest.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I changed my legal name. On XX/XX/XXXX I filled out Citi bank name change kit, including paying {$15.00} for having a notary ( XXXX ) watch me sign it. On the same day I mailed Citi bank everything in the name change kit, including a photo copy of my drivers license with my new name, the final decree of the legal name change signed by the judge, w9, and more. Sometime after Citi bank sent me a debit card with my new name, at this point I thought everything was fine. Then Citi bank decided to be XXXX. Citi bank reverted my name change. They sent me a new w9 to fill out. I filled out the w9 and mailed it to them. They denied the w9 because it had my new name on it. Desperate to get my funds out of my account as I sensed what Citi bank was spitefully doing, I opened up a XXXX ( Colorado ) Checking account on XX/XX/XXXX and wrote a check from my old name to my new name for {$25000.00}. ( If Citi bank doesn't want to acknowledge my new name, fine, I'll just write a check to myself. My new bank was on board with this too. ) Citi bank froze my account and undid the {$25000.00} check which I had started already using for a CD that I opened with XXXX ( Colorado ) on XX/XX/XXXX. When I asked them why they froze my account, they refused to state why. I have spent countless hours talking with Citi bank 's customer support and they are useless and spiteful. They have refused to help. I reached out by email to Citi bank via XXXX and all they did was direct me back to their useless phone support. I have had it with Citi bank, they are purposefully screwing with me because I was deservedly irritable with them on the phone after trying to get this resolved for MONTHS. I don't know how I will be able to pay my bills without access to my Citi bank account. Every other bank and financial institution was fine with my name change ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX ), Citi bank is literally the only company I have had any issues with. They are employing spiteful overseas workers who do phone support and are the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with in regards to financial matters. They have cost me hundreds of dollars, if not thousands by the time this is ever resolved. On XX/XX/XXXX I once again sent in a name change kit, including a notary, photo copy of my drivers license both OLD AND NEW, the final decree of the legal name change signed by the judge, w9, and more. On XX/XX/XXXX I called the fraud department to attempt to get information on why my account was still frozen. After giving my social security, debit card number, and checking account number, they transferred me and then that person hung up on me before I could even talk to them. On XX/XX/XXXX I once again emailed customer help to attempt to get someone at Citi bank to take ownership of the issues I have been experiencing. On XX/XX/XXXX I contacted XXXX team. They said agent investigating issue was busy and would respond in 48 hours. On XX/XX/XXXX Talked to XXXX. XXXX was not in office at XXXX central time, they will reach out at some point? On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, I called citibank customer service and they told me to call XXXX to talk to another team that could help me with this issue but after calling the number it doesn't go to a citi >reached out to XXXX on both my old and new email addresses >reached out to XXXX on both my old and new email addresses On XX/XX/XXXX I received an email response from XXXX XXXX and I immediately responded to their email as requested with attachments : >new w9 pdf >new signature card pdf >picture of name change form with notary signed from previous notary from XX/XX/XXXX in addition to what they requested, I also included : >picture of the photo copy of my drivers license with my new name from previous submission >picture of the final decree of the legal name change signed by the judge from previous submission STILL DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL EVER BE RESOLVED
