Consumer Complaint: I had an account with Citi Bank in the past, and now just applied for the Citi XXXX credit card, since my credit score according to my XXXX XXXX XXXX reported an excellent score of XXXX. The credit application was denied, however, and the letter stated that my credit score was XXXX, XXXX points below the actual credit score. Citi customer service told me that they use XXXX to calculate scores. I created an XXXX account and found out that the {$14.00} currently charged on my active XXXX card was represented by XXXX as a negative debt, and my student loans ( Dept of ED and XXXX ) from eight years ago were still listed as having been settled at less-than-full-balance, but were actually paid in full as part of a prior CFPB complaint. That complaint was related to a XXXX XXXX I had as a student and which the student loan department refused to give me an accommodation for the XXXX I developed, and so trying to file the corrections on the credit report is causing me to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and I request accommodation for my XXXX by having those student loans marked as paid-in-full without me having to deal with the student loan company that discriminated against me. The XXXX XXXX line of credit was also settled in my favor through another CFPB complaint and I would like that complication to be disregarded from consideration of the XXXX card. Ultimately, I believe that my past, entirely positive credit history with Citi bank, my active XXXX card, and the eventual payment of all my debts due to complications beyond my control, and my correct credit score of XXXX means I should be approved for the Citi XXXX card.

Also, this account was paid and was never a collection. There was miscommunication about a shortage of {$10.00} that was resolved, and the account was closed. Consumer Complaint: There were two fraudulent charges on my card. Citi refunded the two charges but reversed one charge later on. Essentially, I was charged three times and refunded twice. In their decision, they provided proof that the charge was fraudulent. The purchased item was mailed to a state I have never went to and it was addressed to someone I do not know. I filed a police report and provided that information to Citi. It has been XXXX months and I have not been able to get a resolution. Whenever I call, I need to navigate the menu in a very specific way in order to talk to someone. On my most recent call, the initial answering employees started passing me around and pretending to be supervisors. I ended up catching them on this when they misspoke and admitted they weren't really a supervisor. I am currently waiting two additional weeks to hear back. I eventually got to a supervisor and they did seem legitimate. However, I can not confirm if the issue will actually be resolved this time. The police officer involved said they would be willing to speak to the company as well as the case is so black and white. I am very frustrated as I am getting the runaround and need the money back. I am hopeful for a resolution but I also have been strung along for XXXX plus months when this should be routine. Thank you for any assistance you can provide. I have provided all relevant documentation to the credit card company and they confirmed they have it in their records. I have not uploaded any documentation here as I don't want anything public. The card number I am providing on the next page is my current card and not the one that was used for the charge. I think this is what you will need to find me in their system.

Consumer Complaint: I had a personal issue that caused me some life disruption, leading to the the account to which my auto-pay was connected to run empty and thus I missed my timely minimum payment. I quickly noticed the error ( more than XXXX week, but less than XXXX days ), made the payment from another bank account, and set the new bank account to auto-pay to ensure I didn't let this happen again. Or to reduce the chances, let 's say, because mistakes happen -- right?! We still believe that, that mistakes happen, right?! Citi closed my account. With no other explanation. They sent me a letter that said they periodically review accounts, and since I recently made a late payment, my account was closed. I called them, and they said if the letter doesn't contain options for reopening the account then there is no option/offer to reopen the account. Now I've been a " good customer '' of theirs, paid plenty in interest over the years, so I don't even understand their business motivation, much less whether and how this is legal. I don't recall ever being late on a payment previously. I often pay the balance each month but lately I've been carrying a balance for them to charge interest on, so I don't see what they are thinking. I have good credit over XXXX and you don't get that if you're late all the time. I do have two theories as to what may be going on and they are quite opposite one another. 1, to explain the overreaction and too abrupt a response, perhaps it's inadequately monitored algorithms moving so quickly they are cutting of Citi 's nose despite Citi 's face ( and customers ). If it's not algos run amok, perhaps the card issuers collude to keep consumers in unfair terms and prevent consumers from playing the issuers off of each other with sudden disruptions. I did just recently do a large balance transfer from Citi to a 0 % rate card; did that anger them and is that the real reason they closed my account? If this is legal, it shouldn't be. I feel like Citi has more obligation than this to its customers, or it should have.
