Consumer Complaint: Im a XXXX XXXX with a XXXX XXXX living in Maryland. I made the serious mistake of opening a bank account with Citibank. After a series of errors and inefficiencies on their part, they have twice taken the liberty of seizing money from my own account, without alerting me beforehand. The first time it happened was after Id deposited a cheque from XXXX with a name they said didnt match my exact to the letter. They requested I come to the branch with my ID, which I did. They said thank you, that should suffice. Yet a few weeks after, they simply took all that money from my account. When I complained, they said Citibank security was finicky and that Id need to ask the XXXX institution to send me the cheques again, this time made out to the exact name on my passport. I complied, deposited the new cheques, and forgot all about it. But now they just took over {$500.00} from my account without telling me why. Ive wasted hours on the phone and in the branch without getting anywhere. Will you help?

Consumer Complaint: In my previous CPFB complaints ( case numbers XXXX ; XXXX ; XXXX ) referencing XXXX illegal refusal to perform a mutual offset or discharge on the XXXX XXXX ending in XXXX ; their XXXX check of my credit report ; and their retaliation for closing other accounts ( Home Depot, Macys ), I asked Citi to provide a copy of XXXX tax documents XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX which prove that Citi is the fiduciary debtor. To date I have not received these tax documents. I also requested via certified mail and in the XXXX complaints mentioned Citis notice of dishonor from a qualified third party such as the US Treasury explaining why Citi refuses to perform a mutual offset or discharge. Citi must also state which federal laws prevent them from performing a mutual offset or discharge. In reference to the agreement Citi mentioned, I need the copy of the agreement which shows the wet ink signature of both parties sent to me via certified mail. Finally, Citi must explain why they kept the XXXX accounting document when they refused to do the mutual offset or discharge. At the present, Citi is already in default with dishonor and estopped from any and all future collection activity and negative reporting.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 there was a charge made to my citicard credit card for {$63.00} fraudulently.Citicard has refused to fix this. I WANT PROOF THAT I MADE THIS CHARGE. Citicard wants me to bend over backwards and do all the work, I have filed reports with my local police dept, RI attorney general, CFPD, FTC, all 3 of my credit bureaus, and reached out to an attorney. Citcard continued to charge me late fees while being disputed and reported that i was merely being delinquent in payment. It dropped my score XXXX point and continues to affect my score negatively and impacting my natural order of impeccable credit that i worked 27 years to establish. i finally paid the fraud charge in order to stop the process and take legal action the right way. Again, i demand the proof that i made a subscription charge to XXXX on XX/XX/203. Consumer Complaint: Back in late XXXX, I received email from Citibank that they need to verify my identity followed by a notice from mail. Next day I called their consumer business unit per the letter and they asked me to to provide forms of ID electronically. I responded I will go to a branch in person and bring in couple forms of ID including my original driver license and US passport. After I got to the branch for over an hour, the branch manager finally figured out they dont have my social security on file possibly due to system upgrades. The next day, on XX/XX/XXXX, I went in the second time with my original social security card and the branch manager made copies and forwarded the info to the related department. Two weeks after, on XX/XX/XXXX, I got another email stating that if their consumer business unit doesnt receive the info as requested by XX/XX/XXXX, my accounts will be restricted. As a result, I emailed the branch manager, but no response was ever received. Next day I called the consumer business unit and verified that they had received the info and my case was under review. Nevertheless, last Friday XX/XX/XXXX, I went online and found both our savings and checking accounts are blocked. After a series of phone call to the branch and forwarded to other departments, i was told the unit which is responsible for the review hasnt got to my case. Although they are willing to expedite, it will take 24-48 hours to lift the block. As of today, XX/XX/XXXX, the accounts are still blocked. No transactions cane be done, that means my payments and checks will be returned and my husbands retirement monthly payout can not be deposited. This ruins my credibility and cash flow. Am I supposed to be penalized for my cooperation with the bank? My follow ups with the bank doesnt mean anything to their operation. Its Citibanks inefficiency in their operations that cause all these troubles, Though I was told my case is being expedited, the block issue is still unresolved as of today.

Consumer Complaint: My wife and I have called Citibank XXXX times over the past XXXX weeks. I am unable to log in to see any of my accounts including my Citi XXXX XXXX card. This is due in part to me having a checking account in which I never received a debit card for, but used it to wire money nearly a year ago. Because I cant verify my Citi Checking account number or the debit card ( and I have verified all security questions, SS #, etc. ) they are unwilling to unlink my checking account ( which I NEVER use, and has maybe {$200.00} ) from my credit card account due to this, making it impossible for me to see my balance, pay my statement, check on fraud or anything in regards to my personal finances with Citibank and Citi XXXX XXXX card. They also refuse to send me a new debit card that way I could verify this because they cant verify my card ...... Seems completely assinine and inexplicably redundent and frustrating for a consumer, who is just trying to PAY THEIR STATEMENT!

Consumer Complaint: Over the weekend- we visited our Citi mobile app to accept an offer from Citi Bank to transfer the current card to another card they offer with better points and a waived annual card fee the first year. Surprisingly- Citibank closed my account. I have been paying my account diligently ( via Auto draft ) - never been late - paid my account off several times- been an excellent customer- not to mention about to buy a new home so this Closing of our account will harm us tremendously. : ( We've never had a closed account- a charged off account- or any negative impact to our credit. I and my wife both have an excellent credit history. We had ONE issue that was out of our control that resulted in a total Statement balance payment in XXXX and it deducted the total balance of {$5100.00} from our XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX account instead of the usual payment of $ XXXX {$1000.00}. Which would usually be considered a positive. Citbank advised us to call XXXX and reverse the charge so we get the correct amount to them which is what we did. UnfortunatelyXXXX XXXX could not reverse the payment and we adjusted for the month. The following month the payment withdrawn and we were advised it was reversed and to correct it and we did immediately through the online app. Found out-XXXX automatically adds a block when such things happen or are reported to prevent any payment from being made from that account and I had to correct that. Once it was corrected there were no more issues and payment was made and cleared. Why wouldn't Citbank reach out and give us a fair chance once seeing this account has always been in good standing and this issue was not a fault of our own instead of turning to such harsh measures on the consumer? I was thinking of opening a Business Checking with this Bank and just spoke with someone Friday! I almost deposited $ XXXX into this bank! God is always there in the signs he shows us

Consumer Complaint: I purchased a travel reservation on XX/XX/XXXX with my credit card and credit card points. I cancelled the reservation on XX/XX/XXXX and was promised a refund for the credit card total ( {$2000.00} ) within 7-14 days and the points ( {$80.00} ) within 24-48 hours. I received the credit card refund in a timely fashion, however, the credit card point refund still has not been received as of XX/XX/XXXX even though I was supposed to receive it within 2 days. Citi has been very poor with email communication and is not giving me a defined resolution ETA despite multiple requests.
