Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem making or receiving payments
Consumer Complaint: Original contact date : XX/XX/XXXX. Contacted Capital One regarding check paid to medical office. Proof payment needed ( copy of my paid check ). Claim number XXXX. Told it would be emailed to me in 3-5 days. Didn't happen. Called again a few days later. Told it would be mailed to me in 5-7 days. I was patient. XX/XX/XXXX : called again. Spoke to " XXXX '' a Supervisor. Said it would be emailed to me in 3-5 days. I requested escalation as now I'm in collections with my doctor 's office regarding this payment. Said nothing they could do -- had to wait on the " back office '' to respond. Said it would be emailed to me in 3-5 days. XX/XX/XXXX : called again -spoke to XXXX ( manager ) and then XXXX ( Supervisor. Gave me a new number to call : XXXX. Said they would escalate with the back-office and to call back if I dou n't get it by XXXX. Provided a new email address ( my work email ). XXXX called again. Spoke to XXXX ( supervisor ). After almost an hour on the phone going in circles she said I need to call back before XXXX as the back office closes at XXXX ( it was now XXXX ). XXXX called again. Didn't get the name of the supervisor. She said that they have emailed it to me 3 times and that they will mail the proof of payment to my home address. All this for a check of {$36.00}!! I can afford to pay my doctor twice ... by why should I have to? Capital One is able to take my money in .002 seconds when I'm paying for something, but after SIX WEEKS I can't get a copy of a paid check? I've been in the tech industry for 30 years. I've had email since email was created. I know how to check my inbox, spam, junk, search by vendor. I don't believe for one second they have bothered to assist with this request.

Consumer Complaint: I tried to open a new checking 360 account at capital one banks, providing all the required documentation and details and fulfilling the necessary formalities. However, to my surprise, my application was denied without any valid reason or explanation. I tried calling the number provided and I was told that the bank has decided not to have any relationship with you, without giving any reason as to why. I remember facing a similar issue with capital one in 2020 but i ignored it. I firmly believe that this decision was based on discrimination, as I fulfilled all the standard eligibility criteria and provided all the necessary documents. I request that appropriate action be taken to rectify this situation, to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future, and to ensure that the bank complies with all anti-discrimination laws and regulations. I trust that the institution takes this matter seriously and will take immediate steps to address it promptly. I am willing to provide any additional information or documentation that may assist in resolving this matter.

Consumer Complaint: The existence of a derogatory rating on my account is causing me significant concern. I am deeply worried about its potential impact on my credit. It has already resulted in the denial of a recent loan application and an increase in the interest rates on my existing credit accounts. I want to emphasize the severe financial and emotional distress that this negative rating has caused me and will continue to cause until it is resolved.

Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms
Consumer Complaint: My Capital One credit card had an offer of 0 % for the first 9 months, but now Capital One refuses to honor the full 9 months. This offer was advertised publicly, in communication with me, and during the application process. My account was opened and my card was received on XX/XX/2023, thus the offer should be through XX/XX/2023, however I was only given 0 % interest until XXXX. After I notified Capital One of the discrepancy, a representative communicated to me that the date would be corrected if I sent them a copy of the emails that I received showing that 9 months was offered. I sent this documentation to the address they specified, and I recently learned that this was received by Capital One in XXXX. However, the issue was never corrected. I contacted Capital One again today, and they acknowledged the past communication and that the requested documentation had been provided, but refused to make the correction on the basis that a generated disclosure sent on XX/XX/XXXX also shows the XXXX expiry date. This is a plainly obvious error considering that these dates do not span 9 months. So first of all, Capital One 's own records confirm that there was a mismatch between the offer that I was given and the one that was actually applied. Secondly, I was previously already promised by a Capital One representative that the date WOULD be corrected from XXXX to XXXX, with the only condition being that I send proof of the email stating that the offer was for 9 months, which I have done. Despite this, Capital One still has not made the correction.
