Consumer Complaint: Because my card number was stolen for the third time, I reported the fraud and cancelled the account with Comenity Capital Bank in XXXXXXXX XXXX. They researched and finally decided it wasn't my charge and closed the account in XXXXXXXX XXXX. In XXXX, I received a payment notice with interest, on a balance I did not owe. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called and had the account closed by agreeing to pay {$70.00}. They deducted that amount from my bank account. Now it is the end of XXXXXXXX XXXX, and they are still sending me statements saying I owe an additional {$32.00}!! I owe nothing as the card was cancelled in XXXX, paid " in full '' on XX/XX/XXXX! And their automated assistance will NOT allow me to speak with someone to confirm all this happened.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a XXXX XXXX credit card for a XXXX procedure and had to set up a pay arrangement to pay off the card to close this account. After ensuring that the company was aware during the call with the employee for {$300.00} a month until the full {$1800.00} was paid off. I brought the balance down to {$450.00} and was getting ready to pay off the account i received a statement that stated i owed an additional {$780.00}. I called the company and explained that i had previously set up this pay arrangement with a member of their team and wanted the arrangement to be honored as previously agreed and would not pay the other amount because during the initial phone call it wasn't discussed nor brought up about this being promotional. Now i received an additional phone call and tried to explain how i initially freaked out and wanted the account closed and a notarized pay arrangement to be established so that this would not happen again. The man on the phone would not hear about it and even was acting smug about the situation while saying i wasn't able to request this arrangement and the statements were all i was going to receive. When asked why the initial phone call didnt include this information I was informed that the account specialist did not know.

Consumer Complaint: Long time customer of Zales, Has Zales Credit Card through Commenity bank. History of using the 0 % for 12 / 18 / 36 months. Went to make a payment and the interest was back charged in the amount of XXXX at 30 % interest. Called to ask to settle without the back interest and pay balance in full. I have spoken with their disputes department XXXX which initially relayed they could flip an 18 month no interest into 36 months, then once she saw when we purchased the item she then relayed because it was during the month of XXXX they can not file a dispute against the interest from the purchase date. Transferred to their hardship program who wants to penalize me close the account and still charge $ XXXX on what was down to {$13.00} K balance and keep a 30 % Interest rate. They will not negotiate or offer additional assistance. This is within a 30 day window of them adding the charge, we received no notice via email which statements are paperless and their website does not recgonize user ID which is a fight to even get into our account. We remained on hold over 2 hours between departments with answers of I am very sorry we can't help you. In asking to speak with higher managers who can help being we are a long time customer of the company and paid our last balance of over $ XXXX within the year of purchase we are not receiving any help.

Consumer Complaint: Comenity Bank has not updated my credit report since XX/XX/2022, over two months ago. I also have not received any of my rewards in two months either. I have since completely paid off this balance but since they're not reporting it I'm continuing to take a significant hit on my credit score. Ever since this bank 's supposed " update '' 2 months ago that locked everyone out of their accounts for weeks they have done nothing. No reporting payments to the credit bureaus, no rewards points for using our cards. I paid over a {$500.00} balance that I would like reflected on my credit score, they haven't reported anything for over 2 months. This is unacceptable

Consumer Complaint: Credit card companies should be officially REQUIRED to show upfront what your " Minimum Payment to Avoid Interest Charges '' is on each month 's statement for your credit card bill, as well as on their online payment page, and not just in small print on the last page of your statement. It should be easy and obvious to see what that payment amount is, and you should not have to try to calculate that amount yourself. // The problem is that when you take advantage of those frequent credit card " balance transfer '' offers, some of the offers have required monthly minimum payments, and some of the offers do not. So if you take advantage of a credit card balance transfer offer, your required " Minimum Payment to Avoid Interest Charges '' may be different from your " Minimum Payment to Avoid a Late Fee, '' as well as different from your " Total Purchases on This Statement. '' // In my case, Commenity Bank only shows my minimum required payment on my " 0 % Balance Transfer Offer '' on the middle or last page of each statement, and only in small print in a column listed as " Details of Your Plans : Plan Minimum. '' Which means that I can only figure out what to pay to avoid an interest charge on my statement as a result of my " 0 % Offer '' by adding all of my purchases for that statement AND my balance transfer offer " Plan Minimum, '' which is not the same as what is listed as my " Statement Balance '' or my " Minimum Payment Due. '' // The funny thing is that on my last statement they changed my " Plan Minimum '' to Zero for that statement ( accidentally, I think ), but then charged me a small interest charge even though I paid more than the total of all of my purchases for that statement. I believe they will correct my charge, since the error was theirs, but it irked me that I should even have to the perform the calculation myself. // Since the company already knows for each of your statements what your " Minimum Payment to Avoid Interest Charges '' is, they should be required to provide it to you very clearly on both your written statement front page, in the same location as " Minimum Payment Due, '' and on their online payment page. I had thought that that was part of the most recent laws governing the credit card companies, but a representative at Commenity just told me that that was not the case. I would also appreciate knowing how to get this included in the laws governing the credit card companies, as I believe that this would help all consumers.
