Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: I have a Zales account under Comenity Bank. I was charged an interest charge of {$4300.00} in XXXX which made my balance XXXX. I contacted my bank XXXX XXXX XXXX to send a payment on my behalf in which they did. On XXXX XX/XX/2022, XXXX XXXX sent a check of {$7700.00} ( check XXXX ), the check was cashed XXXX XX/XX/2022 according to XXXX XXXX. I sent a image of the check which shows the cashed date, bank, my name and account. To date, Comenity Bank has not applied this payment to my account. I have called numerous times, I have filled disputes and I am being told to wait while they research. I call weekly and interest rates and late fees continue to apply to my account. To date I am still waiting for my payment to be applied. Due to this prolonged delay and stress this has brought into me, I would like the applied interest of {$4300.00} to be completely removed. I would like the payment that was sent to be applied to my account and the balance sent back to me ASAP due to the inconvenience.

Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 payment was made directly from my bank account for {$1000.00}. Comenity Bank there after adjusted my amount with my bank and only charged {$980.00}. Comenity Bank thereafter had their system down and many clients were having problems reaching them for almost a month. It could be the issue that they never sent information of my card paid in full. There shouldn't be a balance at all on my credit report. I contacted them explaining to clear the balance however its still there since XXXX. 3 months now and it's incorrect and my utilization should be XXXX. I received a letter from them paid in full but its supposed to be sent to the credit bureau. Please help me. Thank you.

Subissue: Problem with rewards from credit card
Consumer Complaint: For the past several months, Comenity has stated they were in the process of upgrading their system. Initially, I couldn't even access recent transactions and could only make payments without reviewing any charges. They finally fixed that issue, and now I can not apply my rewards as a statement credit or access them any other way. WHEN you can reach customer service, they state I can see more than they can, that they can't even see my rewards balance. Each time I try to " request a statement credit '' with my rewards, I receive an error saying the rewards can not exceed the statement balance. It doesn't, and I get the error regardless of the amount I try to apply. Comenity keeps saying they are " working '' on it, and it is an upgrade to the system. System upgrades should NOT take over 4 months to complete. In the meantime, I can't access or use the rewards Comenity / Bread Financial advertised to get me to sign up for the credit card. I pay my balance in full each month and expect them to honor their advertising. Each time I leave them a bad review somewhere, I get a generic email response about how important my opinion is and how they are working to resolve the issues, but NOTHING ever gets resolved! Rewards aren't any good if you can not use them and I feel this was false / misleading advertising to get people to sign up for their card.

Consumer Complaint: I paid the entire balance to my Victoria 's secret card that was due XX/XX/XXXX and paid on XX/XX/XXXX making the account paid in full. on XX/XX/XXXX I was charged a {$2.00} interest fee for a XXXX balance. I called on XX/XX/XXXX as I had not received any statements, emails or phone calls but happened to see a balance on XXXX XXXX, I was told that my account carried a residual balance as I had not paid it in full when I made the original purchase. I complied with all monthly payments until making the final payment that was due. I signed into my account to find I owed {$14.00}, I was charged a {$2.00} interest on XX/XX/XXXX for a XXXX XXXX XXXX I was assessed a late fee of {$2.00}, XX/XX/XXXX another {$2.00} interest fee, XXXX another late fee of {$6.00} and on XXXX another {$2.00} interest fee for an account that has no activity, purchases or balances, they created the balance of {$14.00} when the account was paid in full before the due date. I sent them an email and was told to check the back of the statement and that was there response while they look at the matter. I wonder how many people they are doing this to for paying their accounts in full before the due date.

The change lowered my credit score!!! I contacted commenity bank and have not been able to get this corrected.

Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: I opened an Arhaus Credit Card through Comenity bank that provided a 0 % interest rate for 18 months. If unpaid in full at the end of the term, the interest from each monthly billing cycle would be charged. At the end of the term I tried logging in to my Comenity bank member site to pay my balance in full but the system was not working. After Bread Financial acquired Comenity, they recognized and reported that they were experiencing glitches with their systems. As a result I missed my payment deadline and the full interest of $ XXXX was charged to me. I called, email messaged and wrote a letter to Comenity disupting this but they maintain that the $ XXXX in fees is accurate. I have since paid my balance in full to avoid any additional late fees but I'm asking you to advocate for Bread Financial to refund me the interest. Secondly, when I paid my balance in full on XXXX, Comenity sent me another statement charging me an additional {$180.00} in fees on a balance of {$0.00}. I again had to call them and this time they agreed to waive the fee. I am incredibly disappointed in Comenity and there being zero consumer protection in these circumstances. Thank you for your help.

Consumer Complaint: Commenity Bank has not reported my account to the credit bureaus for 3 months. I am told it is reported every 30 days but it clearly is not. Twice, I sent an online message to Commenity asking why they have not reported my account standing to the credit bureaus. The first time they told me they report every 30 days, even though I said they havent reported for 3 months. The 2nd time, I was told that their systems are down and I need to wait 45 days. I have already waited 3 months. Now I have to wait 4.5 months. I am trying to obtain credit and this account if affecting my credit score. Today, a supervisor hung up on me when I asked to speak to someone above her. These people are disgusting and rude. I need my credit report updated ASAP and z Commenity is making it impossible for me. They are not following through on their responsibilities. They are treating me like I have no rights in this matter and they are telling lies about reporting it to the credit bureaus. I have filed a dispute with all 3 credit bureaus and they are clearly not getting answers from Commenity either. I also want an apology from the company because the supposed Supervisor hung up on me. I am sure they can find out who it is.
