Consumer Complaint: Attended a timeshare exit presentation. A Barclays RCI credit card account was opened and a charge of {$11000.00} posted on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, MO XXXX. I send a certified letter to opt-out. I talked to XXXX XXXX, Customer Support for the processing center and she acknowledged the error and receipt of the opt-out letter. She then wanted to know if we wanted a check mailed or a credit back to the credit card. We responded by telling her to credit the credit card. She said she would do that but needed a document-sign form. She was to send this to us. We have not received the form. We have not received any further response or communication.

Consumer Complaint: I had a Gap Visa Card issued by XXXX XXXX, and a few years ago I received a letter that Barclays bought it and we will receive a new Gap Master card from them or if we won't to continue with this new company and master card to pay off all the balance and to do nothing more. I paid off my balance and when I received the new master card I NEVER ACTIVATE IT. The Barclays sent me a few letters with different offers but I did nothing because I did not want their new card. Now after more then 1 year or XXXX years I received a statement from Barclays with a transaction on my never activate card with a transaction on it on XXXX XXXX. How is possible to have a transaction to a company that never I was their customer, I never activate their cards?? and now look I have a active card with them and a transaction on it. Thank you for your help in front with this abuse because they have all my personal info from the old company.

Consumer Complaint: Do not regularly use this card and was charged an annual fee on a card that had been dormant for 12 months. Payment became over due and I submitted payment 30 days late. Tried to close the account and ask for a 1 time curtesy removal of the late mark against my credit. Was told I needed to wait 1 credit reporting cycle to show removal. On XX/XX/ Barclays reported the late payment and impacted my credit score significantly. Called back on XX/XX/XXXX to again ask for the removal of the late payment and close my account. Was told I could close my account but that the only way to request a removal of 30 day late payment is to mail a physical letter to their FCRA department and wait to get a response back. They advised there was no other way to speak with the FCRA department other than mailing a physical letter. This is completely unacceptable in 2023 that the only way I can reach a fair credit reporting department and a via a physical letter with no way of knowing whether they received the letter.

Consumer Complaint: I have already provided the necessary documents for identity theft as well as proven the information has multiple inconsistencies across each credit bureau and requested that the validity of the accounts be properly verified. All parties have failed to provide me that proof. I have also found a publication on the IRS website in which the IRS defines a charge off as gross income ( Section 61 ( a ) ( 12 ) of the Internal Revenue Code specifically includes income from discharge of indebtedness as gross income. ) INCOME DOES NOT GET REPORTED ON THE CONSUMER REPORT which in fact makes the reporting inaccurate and fraudulent!

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I attended a Club Wyndham timeshare presentation with my girlfriend at Club Wyndham XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, NV. The salesperson aggressively marketed the timeshare deal to us and also offered to run our credit to see if we would qualify. Initially, we were not told that part of the purpose of running our credit was to have us each open a Wyndham Rewards Earner credit card. After we discovered this, we told the salesperson that we were not interested in opening said credit card, and that we were not interested in purchasing a Wyndham timeshare. Before we left, we each signed a confirmation that we would not be taking advantage of their timeshare promotional deal. A few weeks later, I received a Wyndham Rewards Earner credit card in the mail ( although my girlfriend did not ). This credit card was therefore opened without my consent.

Consumer Complaint: i have discovered that Barclay has been applying finance charges to our account after the balance subject to finance charges has been in full each month. ( XXXX, XXXX and XXXX ). I also discovered that the interest rate was increased by 0.25 % in XXXX without notification. I send an email to the website and ask for an explanation why finance charges were applied to the account where the balance subject to finance charges has been paid in full before the due date. I received. A response next day that the finance charges accessed is correct. I called and spoke with XXXX at XXXX today, XX/XX/XXXX, and again ask about the finance but she can not explain why after i walk her through with the statement and payments. She told me that ID # XXXX has reviewed the account and i will be receiving a letter in the mail. XXXX- the balance subject to finance charges was $ XXXXdue on XX/XX/XXXX, multiple payment was made before the due date to cover the balance but finance charges of {$9.00} was applied to the account. XXXX- the balance subject to finance charges was $ XXXXand {$16.00} finance charges was applied. XXXX- the balance subject to finance charges was {$810.00} and {$16.00} finance charges was applied. I have attached the statements for XXXX, XXXX and XXXX to show the accuracy of my complaint along with the payments posted in the account. Barclay is applying the finance charges incorrectly.

This was the third time they made such an error. What they are doing, apparently, is going into my bank account and removing only a portion of the cash I set aside to pay the credit card bill in order to incur interest charges. I called the company to complain. They noted the complaint and gave me this reference number : XXXX. And they credited my account for the charges. This is the third time they commited this fraud.
