Consumer Complaint: In early XXXX, around XXXX, my financial advisor at Merrill Lynch said that Bank of America had a special offer. If I had $ XXXX in holdings at my ML account, added a minimum of $ XXXX and opened a new BOA account, they would give me $ XXXX as a bonus offer if I held the money in there for 60 days. As of XX/XX/12 when the BOA account was opened, I had $ XXXX sitting in ML. I have repeatedly asked about the bonus offer to my ML advisor ( minimum 5 times ) and have not yet received a call. The last email I received my ML advisor said ..Unfortunately its too late to make any adjustment to the account. XXXX must be new assets 60 days suggesting the 60 day dateline was not met. Based on the evidence provided this is untrue.

Consumer Complaint: I recently got out of an XXXX XXXX. I was awarded the Bank of America accounts in the settlement. His name needs to be removed. I have attempted this numerous times. They insist that we both have to be there to remove him. But I will not be around him anymore due to his XXXX. I finally got them to send the paperwork to each of us to sign. It was notarized and sent it back. They claim it was done incorrectly. So round two of the same paperwork was sent in, but no changes yet. I was also told that I needed my ex 's approval to change my name on the account, even though it clearly states me reverting to my maiden name in the final decree. This is unacceptable.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I tried to send money from my checking account to my savings account. I accidentally sent the money to the credit card. Meaning I made a payment of {$1000.00} accidentally. I immediately called and told them that it was a mistake and they said they would refund it but it may take up to 90 days. After over a month I went into the bank for an update and realized they had lowered my line of credit by {$1100.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and they said that since returning the {$1000.00} would put me over my credit limit that they would not be refunding my money. I believe that because I called and told them it was a mistake and the fact that they told me they would refund it that I was wronged. They lowered my line of credit the very next day so they would not have to pay me back.

Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, a fraudulent charge of {$1700.00} was made on my Bank of America credit card by XXXX XXXX. I had been in the pharmacy, but my charge was for an item under {$4.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, Bank of America documented the fraud dispute and removed the charges. Without properly performing the necessary inquiry and without proper explanation, Bank of American reinstated the charge the following month. I have repeatedly explained to Bank of America representatives that this charge was fraudulent. Nonetheless, Bank of America has erroneously continued to demand payment for this fraudulent charge and has illegitimately ruined my credit score by over 350 points. On XX/XX/XXXX, Bank of American wrote that it had made the decision to close my credit card. Because of Bank of America 's actions in ruining my credit, I am now unable to obtain any reasonable credit, including another credit card. I repeatedly and in good faith attempted to resolve this fraudulent charge but Bank of American has stonewalled with no explanation. The customer service department claims they are unable to access the account and to resolve this issue in any manner. The bank branches that I have visited also say they are powerless to resolve the baseless actions taken by Bank of America. Bank of America has repeated harassed me to pay a fraudulent charge that they failed to properly investigate. Bank of America has violated my right to have fair and accurate reporting of my credit information. I have been attempting to work on this issue for months with absolutely no resolution to this problem. Bank of America representatives, including branch employees are at a loss as to what steps to take to correct this problem and cant even access the credit card to rectify the issue. They don't even have a phone number to their legal department and say that they don't even have a legal department. I have been a board certified physician in good ethical standing, and good financial status for over 50 years. My reputation and financial status was unblemished until Bank of America recklessly handled the fraud charge on my credit card and erroneously notified credit bureaus that I had not paid my obligations. Bank of American continues to wrongfully claim that I owe them the {$1700.00} charge from XXXX plus penalties and interest. They have been inept, reckless and possibly fraudulent. I relied on them to properly perform their duties with regard to this fraudulent charge.

Consumer Complaint: My monthly credit card payment to Bank of America 's office in XXXX, Texas seemed to get lost in the mail. I had my bank- XXXX XXXX XXXX stop payment on the two checks I had mailed to Bank Of America and issued two new checks that did make it to BOA. My account is now paid off in full. But suddenly out of the blue the original two checks I asked XXXX XXXX to stop payment on were processed causing an account credit of {$1800.00}. I can not reach a live person at BOA to get a refund and my bank charged me for stopping payment on the original two checks but still processed those checks when they turned up late. So, I am paid up but want a refund from BOA for the double payment. But, trying to get live person at BOA to assist me has not been possible. Herding cats and communicating with the dead is easier that communicating with BOA! I just want my refund!
