Consumer Complaint: I have since received letters from Bank of America that they can not return the funds. The account was opened fraudulently in a Bank of America bank account. the Lawyer 's office XXXX XXXX XXXX never had an account with Bank of America. I think Bank of America allowed a fraudulant account to be set up in their banking system. They should make me whole. See below for more details I was working with a lawyer XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX. to get my bankruptcy filed and I received, what is now to be known as a fraudulent email from someone impersonating XXXX XXXX telling me that the company was having trouble processing payments through their normal portal and I was dumb enough to request an bank transfer on XX/XX/2022 to the so-called bank account of the lawyer. The email appeared to be from the paralegal ( XXXX ) that I was working with but it was not her. I lost {$1800.00} through it because the bank will not refund the money because I initiated the transfer. I reported it to the police here, but doubt they will do anything. The lawyer informed me a month later that they never received my money. and that is when I started to contact the bank and reported it to the police

Consumer Complaint: Im a new banker at Bank of America I went in to deposit money into my account and I experienced race discrimination it was two lines one for business and one for personal it was no teller at the personal line so I went in the business line I was called to the window and the teller happen to be a XXXX woman Im a XXXX XXXX woman she says to me this is a business line personal is over there I said so you cant help me?? She says this is for business only so I was fine with that but as Im walking away she call the next customer which happen to be a XXXX male that has a personal account just like me and she helped him with no problem I then asked for the manager I was pointed to her and approached her about my experience she didnt apologize or anything the manager said the bank teller helped the male that was behind me with the same account that I had the rules should apply to everyone I had to go out the line after waiting 20 to 25 minutes with 4 people in front of me which mean more time waiting the manager co signed on a employee XXXX

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX Bank of America decided to close all of my accounts suddenly. No reason was given. I appealed on XX/XX/XXXX but that was denied. In total - 10 accounts were closed. 1 personal checking 3 business checking XXXX children savings accounts XXXX child checking account No reason was given. I was locked out of my accounts and unable to withdraw any funds and I am still waiting for my funds to be returned to me. No communication or notice was given by the bank. I called the bank when I found that several transactions were all of the sudden being declined despite funds in my bank account. The accounts were all current, not overdrawn and I had been a customer with Bank of America for over 10 years and never had any issues like this before.

Consumer Complaint: I was the victim of a sophisticated scam while trying to purchase an antique car on the internet. On XX/XX/XXXX I authorized my investment manager, XXXX XXXX, to wire transfer {$9000.00} to the account designated by the scammers. The account information specified was as follows : Beneficiary/Account Holder : XXXX XXXX XXXX Payment Reference : XXXX Bank : Bank of America Account No : XXXX XXXX XXXX Routing No : XXXX Hightower uses XXXX XXXX as the originating bank and on XX/XX/XXXX, after proper due diligence the funds were transferred. On XX/XX/XXXX, after figuring out the scam mechanism, I requested that XXXX attempt to retrieve the {$9000.00} from Bank of America XXXX XXXX assigned an investigator who immediately filed a claim ( XXXX case # XXXX, Bank of America Incident Report # XXXX ) Bank of America advised the XXXX XXXX that they required a minimum of 90 business days to attempt to retrieve the funds. This time period expired on, or about XX/XX/XXXX. There has been no meaningful information forthcoming from BOA since initiation of this claim with the last conversation ( no new information- '' claim in process '' ) on XX/XX/XXXX. It seems to me that BOA should provide the following information : 1. Does BOA have procedures in place to properly vet their customers? 2. If so, were these procedures properly followed regarding the reci [ ient of the wired scam fundsXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX? 3. Why has BOA not communicated with the XXXX XXXX with meaningful information. 4. If no recovery has been achieved, does BOA carry insurance or self insurance to protect victims of this increasingly prevalent occurrence and if so how could I, as victim, access these funds? Consumer Complaint: During XX/XX/XXXX, I requested a modification of my mortgage loan. Bank of America sent me notification, XX/XX/XXXX that I was approved for a trial modification and instead of making regular monthly payments to pay the exact amount of my trial period plan payments of {$1600.00} for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Additionally, the letter informed me that they would continue to report to credit reporting agencies the status of my loan as well as my entry into a Trial Period Plan, in accordance with the requirements of the Fair Credit Reporting Act andf the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. In addition, my loan will be reported as paying under a partial or modified payment plan during the trial period. The letter further informed me that my existing loan terms will remain in effect and unchanged during the Trial Period Plan and I will continue to receive monthly statements that will show the payment amount based on my existing home loan agreement. However, please pay only the new Trial Period Plan payment amount instead of your regular payment amount until I hear from them about a permanent home loan modification. On, XXXX XXXX XXXX I received the approval letter for the modification. This letter informed me that I had successfully completed my trial modification and they are pleased to let me know that I've been approved for a permanent loan modification. The condition to receive a permanent loan modification was to make the trial payments on time, by the XXXX of that particular month in which I did. Bank Of America, instead of notifying the credit reporting agencies of my modification status and Trial Period Plan, they reported late payments from XXXX which is inaccurate and a direct violation and a willful failure to comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. They failed to notify the credit reporting agencies of my loan modification status and that I was on a Trial Period Plan. Additionally, they reported late payments when payments were sent XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. In XXXX, I requested a detailed payment history to include XXXX payments. Bank Of America failed to send XXXX XXXX XXXX, but sent XXXX from XXXX

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23 I wrote a dispute to the 3 major credit bureaus XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. The account that this complaint is about is Bank of America ( Account ending in XXXX ). I asked the credit bureaus to investigate because the balance should be XXXX. It is a charged off account which has been sold to debt collectors, I say debt collectors because I have received 2 notices from two seperate companies telling me that I owed a debt, with the original creditor being Bank of America. Now I am getting a response to my dispute from Bank of America as well, on two occasions. One on XX/XX/XXXX and one on XX/XX/XXXX. Both state I owe a blance of {$470.00}. So now Bank of America is illegally charging me a balance after selling my debt to not one, but two debt collecton agencies, which are also contacting me to pay this debt. I want this inaccurate account removed from my credit report and updated the balance to XXXX immediately. This is highly suspicious activity and honestly I would not mind getting a lawyer at this point because Bank of America is supposed to be a reputable company but now it turns out they are looking to collect a debt from ME as well as sell my debt to TWO debt collectors to get even more money.

Consumer Complaint: I authorized a minimum payment of {$50.00} something dollars from my bank account to one of my credit cards. The next day I realized the credit card company had charged the full amount which was over {$4000.00} and not the original amount I had authorized. I tried to confirm them but they said the payment had already been processed and I should fix it with my bank. So I opened a claim with my bank and provided all the necessary details. My bank declined and closed the claim. I still got charged for that amount of {$4000.00} but even though they didnt give credit back to my checking account, the money was also taken back from my credit card and did not go through as well. Therefore now I feel that my bank has stolen money from me.
