Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Banking errors
Consumer Complaint: I opened a checking account with ally bank and deposited a check and later realized it was most likely fraudulent so I immediately called ally to tell them to stop the check. I talked to a very nice gentleman who stopped the check and told me to let the funds from the check go in the account and back out of the account and everything will be fine. That happened like he said it would and everything was going well and we were just waiting on our debit cards to come in the mail, it was taking awhile so I called them XX/XX/2023 at approximately XXXX XXXX and they didnt tell me anything was wrong and that my debit cards should be delivered the next day. After that phone call I heard nothing until until about XXXX XXXX the same day I get an email saying that my entire checking account has been closed with no explanation. So I called them back and asked what was going on and they told me that because of that fraudulent check they decided to close the account with no notice other than a letter that I never received and was told by the bank that I probably never received it anyway, they continued to tell me that any remaining funds will be mailed to me and that this was final and irreversible. I have kids and bills to pay and this is just absolutely just not right what so ever

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: Incomplete or Inaccurate Documentation : I have not received any documentation from the creditor regarding the repossession of the vehicle in question. I am unaware of any legal proceedings or written notices regarding this repossession. Violation of State Laws : As per my knowledge of the applicable state laws, the creditor must provide written notice of intent to repossess the vehicle, as well as an opportunity to cure the delinquency before the repossession occurs. I have not been provided with any such notice, and therefore, the repossession may be in violation of the law. Lack of Opportunity to Reinstate the Loan : I was not given an opportunity to catch up on the delinquent payments or to reinstate the loan, which could have potentially avoided the repossession. I kindly request that you investigate this matter and provide me with a written response outlining the results of your investigation. If it is determined that the repossession entry is inaccurate, I expect it to be promptly removed from my credit report. As a result of this incorrect information, my creditworthiness has been unjustly affected, making it difficult for me to obtain credit and negatively impacting my financial well-being.

Subissue: Unable to receive car title or other problem after the loan is paid off
Consumer Complaint: I am seeking relief from Ally Financial Inc. & XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) in an amount exceeding {$40000.00}. In short, XXXX coerced me into getting a lease when I wanted to purchase a XXXX XXXX XXXX ( I have text proof and a deposit receipt for purchase ). XXXX sent me to another XXXX of their dealerships to finalize my transaction where the switch was made. Ally acknowledges that there was an excess payment made of over {$40000.00} ( {$44000.00} to be exact ), but I wasnt entitled to it and theyre keeping it per section 39 ( a ) " ... there will be no excess credit given. Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23, Ally called me to inform me a new debit card they tried to send me was returned to them because of a shipping problem. We fixed the shipping problem, and the agent stated she would deactivate the new card that was returned to them. She instead deactivated the debit card I currently had. This left me without any way to acess my bank account or any money that I had. I called Ally customer service. They stated they would send a new debit card within 4 business days. Since this was before memorial day weekend, this mean that Ally 's error would leave me without any money for around 7 days. When I brought up that this solution would leave me without any money for a week, Ally customer service did not seem to think this was their problem. I was given a reference number for this case XXXX. When I tried to get documents for this case, Ally customer service either said they did not see that reference number existed, or in one case simply ignored the request over and over.
