Consumer Complaint: Discover is reporting an account on my credit report that I never applied for. It was opened XX/XX/2014 and has a credit limit of {$1500.00} and a balance of {$2000.00}. Furthermore, the address on the account is in Oklahoma and I have resided in Alabama for several years so there is NO WAY it is mine.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: This particular account situation that is lately filing on my own credit document has a seriously unfavorable relation to my personal ability to obtain a present loan application. I highly recommend you generate verification that Credit Union has been reported completely in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act regulations, it's really a serious problem to misreport. More confirmation of the aforesaid item too. My proper request must over, I was never 30 days/60 days/120 days late in any of my payments and I'm not greatly tuned in to the date opened so I prefer to ask you be investigated as soon as possible and confirmed to be correct. Thanks!

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2019 I submitted a fraud claim with Discover Card. I was notified on XX/XX/2019 that the investigation had been closed and that all unauthorized charges had been credited ( see attached ). I have still not received these noted funds of {$1100.00}. I have called multiple times and continue to be told the funds will be in my account within 12-14 days. The first time this was noted was on XX/XX/2019 by XXXX at XXXX. I called again on XX/XX/2019 at XXXX was spoke with XXXX who notified that the investigation was incomplete so they could not process the transfer and send me the funds of {$1100.00}. I again spoke with someone at discover on XX/XX/2019 at XXXX who notified me that they would transfer the funds after the credit refund team had time to review the claim. I have been given no reason to believe they will actually transfer the funds as they continue to say they will. I have also asked that any account in my name at discover be closed and have continued to fight them on it. I also have no reason to believe they have actually closed any of my accounts as requested based on the letter I received on XX/XX/2019.

Issue: Threatened to contact someone or share information improperly
Subissue: Talked to a third-party about your debt
Consumer Complaint: Written correspondence received on XX/XX/19 and they followed up with a phone call to me personally and also contacted a family member and disclosed confidential and personal information regarding the debt owed. Spouse passed away on XX/XX/19 and held a Discover card. When I contacted Discover about the death I was told by them that I am not personally liable for this debt and if there was an estate the estate would be liable. I told Discover there was no estate. Discover has given this account to a company called XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, OH XXXX. XXXX # XXXX. They called a family member and disclosed confidential and personal information about the debt. This company said they found the information about the family member from the internet. How did they know who they were talking to -to disclose this information. This company could of verified that there was no probate proceeding by contacting the XXXX XXXX in the county where the decedent lived. They were asking even what the decedent had for vehicles. If they were told there was no estate that should take care of the account. It was embarrassing to have the family member contact me and disclose what personal and confidential information they related to the family member. If there was no estate why harass the family trying to collect this debt from persons not financially liable.

Consumer Complaint: I encountered a fraud w.r.t. HVAC installation using Discover credit card to pay {$2300.00} on XXXX, but Discover determined it's a valid transaction and didn't give me a refund. I paid the merchant XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/2020, for the installation on XX/XX/2020, and I contacted Discover to reverse the transaction on XX/XX/2020 as soon as I realized it's a fraud. The installation team on XXXX claimed that they didn't receive any payment from the merchant, and threatened me that they would pause the installation and leave all the parts in my house if I couldn't pay them on the spot. I had no choice but paid a separate check to them. The merchant told me he had an emergency and didn't reply until I asked Discover to withhold the transaction. I submitted a dispute with Discover afterwards ( case number : XXXX ), but after a few months, Discover said my payment was a valid transaction because both the merchant and I have signed the contract for the payment, which means I authorized the payment. However, they didn't care whether it's a fraud or not.
