Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX 's response to Discover. Did letter of XX/XX/XXXX represent both disputes? One ''Dispute of Liability '' in XX/XX/XXXX in XXXX Circuit Court -Judge has not given decision yet. 2nd Dispute made by XXXX XXXX to Discover in Utah office concerning over 30 unauthorized charges on XXXX 's Discover account by XXXX XXXX Law Firm of XXXX XXXX, Fla. The balance charged off is not valid as Discover said. The balance should have been a negative balance in favor of XXXX. 30 unauthorized charges ( {$47000.00} plus ) need to be removed plus about the same # of overpayments in amount of over {$8000.00}. which results in negative balance ( over - {$55000.00} ) that Discover owes XXXX. Sending copy of letter of response to Discover by XXXX and copy of list of unauthorized charges to CFPB, Credit Bureaus. Hopefully, CFPB will require Discover to provide proof and evidence concerning his investigation of unauthorized charges as XXXX requested.

Consumer Complaint: Gentlemen, My name is XXXX XXXX. I settled my account ( Discover Credit Card ) with a Debt Collector. Discover chooses not to report the proper information to the Credit Bureaus. I have noticed they are basically doing this and hurting the consumer. They basically are saying on the credit report it was basically charged off Debt and it shows that and when companies run credit this shows as a charge off so they are assuming the balance was not paid? I went back and fourth with Discover and got nowhere!! They basically didnt care!!! They basically are labeling me because my account was in collections!! I think is wrong they are labeling people who do go thru circumstances and do not basically give credit that a consumer settles the debt.

Consumer Complaint: Discover financial services recently requested that I file an IRS form 4506-T to determine whether they would keep or close my credit card accounts, I signed the esign form, as a result, they still closed my accounts stating that they were not able to verify personal information on my account. The will not disclose what information they couldn't disclose, and I as a consumer should know what information it is so I can fix the problem.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX my Discover card was charged a large amount of money at a jewelry shop in XXXX MA. I have contacted Discover multiple times to have this issue resolved. They continue to not give me a reason for why they will not remove the fraudulent charge. They have stated to me that they had signature and picture evidence that my ID was used at the point of purchase but they have not provided any proof whatsoever. Discover has also continued to harass me with collection calls and emails on a balance that was not my own. Discover has " investigated '' multiple times but has failed to give me a valid reason as to why this was not a fraudulent charge. I have sent them proof showing that I was not there around the time that the purchase happened. The location where the purchase was made is about a two hour drive from where I live. I very rarely travel to XXXX and I never make purchases of that amount. Discover should have verified the transaction with me before it was authorized as it is well outside my typical purchasing area or transaction type. This is my final attempt to have this resolved with discover. My next action will simply be to get a lawyer.

Consumer Complaint: i have been charged by discover for personal services THE SAME DATES AND TIMES IN TWO DIFFERENT COUNTRIES They ignore this fact every time we correspond. The dispute was found in their favor but HOW CAN THIS POSSIBLY BE THE CASE THAT I AM EATING AT A RESTAURANT IN XXXX XXXX WHILE SUPPOSEDLY IN A HOSPITAL IN ANOTHER COUNTRY, XXXX ... .. I have for YEARS tried to resolve this with discover. They have a different person respond to every communication who is not familiar with the case. I also offered a settlement and their response was contact this number which I told them does not work from the XXXX XXXX where I reside. They still do not provide a number for me to reach the proper office from outside the US. When I call the regular number they refer me around for hours until I am disconnected. They are making it impossible for me to resolve this and they refuse to acknowlege or do not respond to the main issue in the case - how can they find in favor of the fraudulent chages stating I was receiving hospital care in XXXX, when I am using and charging and living with use of the Discover card in another country for the same dates? After years of this, I demand any negative reporting be erased and that they accept my offer to settle for XXXX XXXX dollars.

Issue: Trouble using your card
Subissue: Can't use card to make purchases
Consumer Complaint: I had an perfect account with Discover meaning all payments was made on time and usually a payment ahead of time. I had the card since XX/XX/XXXXhad a credit balance of XXXX and only used about XXXX XXXX on the card. in XX/XX/XXXXthey sent a letter saying I can get a consolidation loan to pay off any high interest credit cards. I applied for XXXX XXXX and was told to send proof of income which I am retired so I sent all income I receive from social security also including any other income that's not taxable and I got instant approved and I had 3 cards that was paid off. The very next week I get a call from discover telling me not to use my credit card because they have been frozen and that I need to complete a tax form from the IRS for the past 2 years. I told the representative I been disable since XX/XX/XXXX and won't have filed taxes since XX/XX/XXXX. I also shared with the rep that I had sent in forms from social security as well as a bank statements which I think is personal.and I shared too much personal information already. I went online and signed the tax form to the IRS. I get an email a week or so after asking me to call them and I called them on XX/XX/XXXX and was told my account will be closed because they are unable to verify my address through the IRS because I haven't file taxes in the past 2 years. I told the rep I told them that before and im sure most people that receive social security don't file taxes but we pay our bills. The rep response was that is how they verify addresses. I told her then that's discrimination on anyone that's disable or retired no matter how high the credit score is or how they are able to pay. The company discover will close out their account because they don't file taxes!

Consumer Complaint: Fraudulent application of payments. I took out a personal loan in XXXX XXXX and I enrolled in automatic payments. In XX/XX/XXXX, I made additional payments of {$200.00} but the principal balance showed the wrong balance. I also made another additional payment of {$500.00} and still the balance reflected wrong. When I noticed the errors in XX/XX/XXXX I made a call to discover bank to make a complaint, and they told me there was a problem with their system so it not did apply the automatic deductions to both principal and interest and they were going to fix it. In XX/XX/XXXX, nothing had been done, I made another call and they promised another review. Still in XX/XX/XXXX, the same problem was still occurring and I was prompted to make another follow up call. I was given the same lame excuse. I finally asked them to explain to me in writing what happened and also tell me how they are going to fix it. Fast forward XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. I see the same problem, My principal balance has been static on the same amount for 6 month. I made the last call today and Informed that I will be filling a complaint with CFPB. My major problem with Discover personal loans department is that, Interest is computed based on the daily running balance. So for them to present me with a wrong running balance since XX/XX/XXXX and a static balance since XX/XX/XXXX means they are charging me more interest. They also never alerted me of the error even after discovering it, they never presented their explanation as requested in writing. This to me is kind of a fraudulent application and representation of the loan. It is for this reason that I am filling this complain to have it resolved. Thank you. Sincerely XXXX XXXX
