Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, booked a round-trip flight with XXXX ( Through Capital One rewards ) I used about XXXX miles or around {$950.00} for the flight. A week later, I needed the date changed on the flight. I only needed the date moved a few days. Both XXXX and Capital One gave some ridiculous reason as to the " class '' of flight not matching, and that the new flight would cost about {$3000.00} MORE. I explained that simply rebooking the flight would only cost me another {$950.00}, and this policy is not only non-sense but clearly fraudulent and specifically destroying any optionality on the side of the consumer. Neither XXXX nor Capital One cared, and because they pinned me down for an extra {$3000.00}, I had no choice but to leave it inactive, thereby NOT being able to do anything with the original flight, and losing my original cost. Not only is it price-gouging, but it's unethical, immoral, and likely illegal that companies can operate under these shadowy rules they create themselves to gimp money out of unsuspecting consumers. I have a XXXX XXXX XXXX complaint as well, which Capital One refused for reasons they say were " explained '' to me. It's disgusting that I have to go this far to get money which is my own back into my hands. Absolutely disgusting. Will not stop until every single enforcement agency knows and does something about these nasty companies.

Consumer Complaint: Capital One is reporting late payments from XXXX when they agreed to put me on a hardship program due to a death in the family in XXXX and loss of job. They advised that I had 120 days to make payment. What they DID NOT advise is that I had to make the minimum payment each month. That does not make sense because then there is no point of the hardship program. Then in XXXX I lost my job due to XXXX. I was effected by a late payout of unemployment money and stimulus payments. Capital One said that they were going to give forbearance to those effected. As soon as I received the stimulus and unemployment, I paid off the credit card. Capital One is being unethical by denying these issues. Had they given proper instruction, the cards would have never been paid late even. I would have borrowed money to cover the minimum payments had they properly disclosed the process. Their staff inaccurately represented their hardship program.

Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir or Madam, This is in regards to the up to {$300.00} travel credit offer when I make purchases with my Venture XXXX card through Capital One Travel. On XX/XX/XXXX, I purchased the {$170.00} airline tickets via Capital One Travel. The card benefit says that I should see the credit in my account within 7 business days. It's been a month and I haven't received the credit yet. I called the bank today and the customer service said that I should see the credit in my account within 7 business days, but it XXXX take up to 2 billing cycles after I make a purchase. I did ask some friends who own the same Capital One Venture XXXX Cards and they told me that it only took them 2-3 business days to receive the travel credit. It seems there is no consistency in giving the credits to the customers from Capital One. I'd like Capital One Venture XXXX Cards to speed up the process of the travel credit of {$170.00} to my account as they did to other card members. Thank you!

Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I was making a purchase through pottery barn. When going through the checkout process there was a an offer to open a credit card which could earn double the rewards on todays purchase or have promotional financing. I went to the more information page where it confirmed the details and then applied through capital one. I submitted the application and received an approval which stated " your new card is ready to use today. Your physical card will arrive in 7-10 business days but you can ship with your new card right away ''. However when attempting to use the new card by following the link to return to shopping the card wasn't there. I contacted pottery barn who said i would need to contact capital one. I called and the first person I spoke to said I could only do so if it has a virtual card and not all cards have that. He said I would need to check online. When I told him it didnt show anything I asked for a supervisor because it said I could use the card the same day but then after waiting on hold for a while he ended the call. I called back and the person I spoke to said you can't use the card the first day and would need to contact the pottery barn area. I was transferred and then was on the phone for almost an hour trying to figure it out. I was told that I can't use it the same day. I told them this is false marketing and advertising and not ok because I only opened the card to use it for that purchase and I wouldnt have opened the card if I would have had to wait 2 weeks to use it. She tried walking me through several different processes and none worked and then told me I was having issues with it. No, capital one was having issues and falsely advertising what the card could do. It is incredibly deceiving to tell someone to apply for a card for that purchase to get benefits and then not be able to use the card. The card also offers double rewards through pottery barn for the first 30 days but if I dont get my card for 2 weeks, half the time of that is wasted which is also false advertising. The person I spoke with reviewed with me exactly what their website said but didn't seem to care or be willing to just give me the card number so I could add it to the pottery barn account. After over an hour on the phone and multiple transfers all i was told is that the card couldn't do that. I have screenshots showing the approval with the exact verbaige from capital ones website as well as what pottery barn says at check out. Not only is the false advertising not ok but neither is the companys unwillingness to fix their own issue or act like they care.
