Consumer Complaint: Second complaint I am not able to access either online or through the app with Capitol One because I don't have a phone number in my name. The lie of a letter they sent was false. Force them to show proof not just send a prepared letter. They are reporting the wrong address for me which I will start recording all calls with the company moving forward for my proof

Consumer Complaint: I am writing this letter to the credit bureau disputing the two late payments on me credit. Just to clarify, the first late payment that XXXX reported on XX/XX/XXXX was not valid as you had already traded in the vehicle on XX/XX/XXXX, and the Menards payment was made on the day the payment was due. I would like to recite the relevant sections of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) related to this issue? In accordance with the FCRA, specifically XXXX account # XXXX, the reporting of inaccurate or incomplete information by credit bureaus is prohibited. Section 602 of the FCRA outlines the procedures for handling consumer disputes and requires the credit bureau to conduct a reasonable investigation into any disputed information. Section 604 ( a ) ( 2 ) of the FCRA provides that if a dispute is filed, the credit bureau must promptly notify the furnisher of the disputed information and provide all relevant information about the dispute. Finally, 15 USC 1666b requires credit card issuers to promptly credit payments made to the account on or before the due date. Given that the Menards payment was made on the day the payment was due, it should be considered timely and not late. The FCRA, or Fair Credit Reporting Act, is a federal law that regulates the collection, dissemination, and use of consumer credit information. It provides consumers with certain rights regarding their personal credit information, including the right to obtain and dispute credit reports. In situations like the one I described, where there may be a dispute regarding the timeliness of a payment, the FCRA requires credit reporting agencies to investigate and correct any errors or inaccuracies in your credit report. This helps ensure that your credit report accurately reflects your credit history and that you are not unfairly penalized for any mistakes or discrepancies. Additionally, the FCRA imposes certain obligations on financial institutions and creditors to provide accurate and timely information to credit reporting agencies. This means that if a creditor reports inaccurate or misleading information about your credit history, they could be in violation of the FCRA and subject to penalties. Overall, the FCRA is an important law that helps protect consumers ' rights and ensures the accuracy and fairness of credit reporting. Thank You

Consumer Complaint: I am a victim of identity theft. I first noticed it when I started receiving calls, emails, texts asking to verifying payment Info for XXXX, cap one, XXXX XXXX etc. One of my credit card companies notified me of unusual activity which prompted me to check my other accounts and banks. Upon doing so, I notice numerous unauthorized debits from my bank account to an impersonating account ( XXXX XXXX ) as well as a few very strange out of country charges. I notified the bank, filed an identity theft report, froze all my credits with bureaus and contact all parties. I sent a copy of everything and transcripts with the disputes and followed up 2/3 everyday but was told after ten business days I would receive a credit or someone would reach out with questions. No one ever called nor emailed, never wanted any documents. Although I sent them 3x proving and showing I am a victim of identity theft and these were all fraudulent charges. On the tenth business day of calling, I was yet to still hear from anyone and they couldnt located any of the 5 documents in emails I had sent ( I sent them again afterwards ). Shortly after I received a denial and was also asked to leave the bank. I have never felt treated so poorly and kicked to the curb in my life. I am not a rich person and am the victim of identity theft and at a loss over XXXX that was fraudulently taking from me account. Capital one treated me poorly and seemed to not even care to want to look too much into it or see the documents I provided showing I am a victim of identity theft. Instead they never cared to contact me, or look into the matter and just wait the ten days to deny and close my account. I still even sent everything to them again anyway showing I was scared and they showed no customer protection from a banking institution at all. Being a victim of identity theft made me feel 100x worse after the way capital one handled it and treated a customer.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23 I received a email from capital one that my 4 banking accounts would be closed and they decided to end a banking relationship. Thats cool. I went into the bank account and they froze my account and will not allow any withdrawal. I ask them why my account could not be closed so I can get my money and they told me its because my account is under investigation. They refused to tell me what is was under investigation for or give me a time line on when a resolution would come. The representative told me it could take up to 90 days, up to 90 days of CAPITAL ONE ILLEGALLY HOLDING MY FUNDS and preventing me from paying my bills. Im in the process of having a attorney look into this and to get the courts involved.

Now I am filing a complaint because Capital One is violating the Electronic Funds Transfer Act, which limits a consumers liability to { {$50.00} } if the consumer reports the loss within 60 days. I reported the loss to the bank the as soon as possible when I saw the theft had occurred. I would like for these fraudulent charges to be taken off my account and my money returned to me. Thank you very much for looking into this matter.

Consumer Complaint: During the mortgage process I was made aware that multiple accounts had been reported to my personal file that did not belong to me. I reported this information to law enforcement as well as the credit agencies furnishing the information. I have attempted to resolve these discrepancies multiple times over the past couple of years. I even voluntarily paid some of the accounts in order to stop the damage to my credit and constant harassment by collectors. I was informed by my lender to file a complaint with the consumer protection bureau. I request immediate deletion of this account.
