Yesterday I also sent an email to their CEO on XX/XX/XXXX requesting this to be rectified off my credit report. I also wrote the credit bureaus about this last year and only received one response. Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to dispute false information that has been reported on my credit report. Specifically, I am referring to accounts that were given to my ex-husband in a divorce proceeding in 2016, despite the fact that these accounts are over seven years delinquent. Despite repeated requests, XXXX has refused to remove these accounts from my credit report, causing significant damage to my credit score. Furthermore, I have reason to believe that my former spouse has intentionally reported me as deceased in order to take advantage of my good credit standing and score. This has led to my credit applications being denied, as I have been reported as deceased by my former spouse. This information is not only false, but it is also creating significant XXXX and negatively impacting my life in various ways. I have made several attempts to contact XXXX and other relevant parties, but unfortunately, these attempts have been unsuccessful for over XXXX years. I believe that the continued presence of these false accounts on my credit report and the intentional misreporting of my status as deceased by my former spouse is unjust and causing me significant hardship. Therefore, I request that XXXX immediately remove the false accounts and any other erroneous information from my credit report. I also request that you investigate the intentional misreporting of my status as deceased by my former spouse, and take appropriate action to rectify this situation. I appreciate your attention to this matter, and I look forward to your prompt response. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I was notified by CapitalOne that my account had insufficient funds for a debit card transaction. I had never used the debit card for this account, so I was suspicious and logged in to the account to check the status. It appeared that someone had managed to drain nearly {$1000.00} from the account through fraudulent transactions. I believe this to be the result of CapitalOne 's negligence for 2 reasons : 1 ) The debit card associated with this account was in my possession, never used and never taken outside the house. The only way the card information could have been stolen is a security breach on their end. 2 ) I have never used this card, and then suddenly multiple large transactions are placed on the opposite side of the country from where I live. These charged never should have been approved. I shared this information with CapitalOne immediately and they opened an investigation. While the investigation was ongoing they credited a provisional credit for part of the dispute amount ( {$320.00} of {$920.00} ). On XX/XX/2023 I received an email from CapitalOne stating that they have closed the investigation, apparently in my favor, as they state : " Good news! We finished investigating your dispute ( s ). Any temporary credits we deposited in your account are now permanent, and your dispute has been resolved. '' However, they still have not returned the additional {$600.00} that I had deposited with them.
