Consumer Complaint: Good afternoon, I mailed my landlord a check, # XXXX, in the amount of XXXX in XXXX. This was cashed XX/XX/XXXX. This check was stolen from the mail and fraudulent cashed. I have been in contact with my bank CAPITAL ONE, FOR THE PAST TWO MONTHS. This unfortunate engagement of them commenced on XX/XX/23. I have spoken to NINE customer Service reps, one manager and one Supervisor. NO ONE has been able to resolve my issue, yet shuffled me from person to person. In the past two weeks, I have been LIED TO and told all I needed to do was fill out an Affidavit and submit to the investigator in order to be reimbursed my funds. The manger I spoke to ID number is XXXX and most recently the supervisor I spoke to is named XXXX. They READILY ADMITTED that it was Fraud yet they state the investigator has closed the case and is not seeking any info from me suggesting I was scammed. I WAS NOT SCAMMED. THIS WAS MONEY MUCH NEEDED TO PAY MY RENT THAT WAS STOLEN FROM ME AND MY FAMILY. This has been an EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING, ANGERING, DEMORIALIZING experience clearly exhibiting CAPITAL ONES LACK of concern or care for their customers and their families. I have been a longtime, good customer with a sizeable checking account yet they have shown that means nothing to them. THEY HAVE CAUSED UNDUE STRESS on me and my family, all of which undeserved and indicative of an intuition whose action, and lack thereof, has, at this point, shown them to be self serving. Consumer Complaint: My account was closed without my knowledge and without proper notice. Ive had my Kohls charged since XXXX when XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Ive had no issues with my Kohls charge until I moved and I changed my address. After I was notified of the issue with my address in XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Kohls and ultimately spoke with their fraud department. I gave the fraud department my updated address and they updated my account. On three separate occasions in XXXX, I was able to use my Kohls charge with no problem. On XX/XX/XXXX, I logged into the website and paid the total balance on my Kohls charge, which was actually earlier than the due date. I then tried to use my Kohls charge online in XXXX and I received an error message. I was told to call customer service. When I call customer service, they told me that I need to speak to an account specialist, who is not available and gave me a number to call back. I called back the next day. I ultimately was bounced around to seven different departments and people. They finally told me that my account has been closed due to my address. They told me the account was closed in XX/XX/XXXX. Interestingly, when I went to pay my account in full in XXXX online, there was no notice that my account was going to be closed or that they needed an updated address from me. When I spoke to the account specialist, they all indicated that my account was closed due to not having my mailing address. However, they confirmed that they had my correct address. They repeatedly told me they could not reopen my account and that I should just reapply for a new Kohls charge. I told him this was not satisfactory because I did not want another credit inquiry on my credit report. I also told them that if I were to reapply for a new card, I would be using the same address that they already had on file which for some reason they claimed was an error. My account was closed due to an error on Kohl 's part, and nothing that I did. They have had my correct address since XX/XX/XXXX and they let me use my Kohls charge with that address in XXXX and XXXX. I do not understand why they close my account when they had my correct address. I would like them to re-open the same account that I had since XXXX without a credit inquiry. I have attached my billing statement from XXXX, which shows my correct address along with the charges. They allowed me to make on my credit card that actually had my correct address. I also attach proof of my payments for the full balance prior to the due date.

Capital One reported late payments to all 3 credit bureaus on the following dates XX/XX/2023, XX/XX/2023, and XX/XX/2023 which are all inaccurate.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a Menards Big card to receive 0 % financing on a purchase I made on XX/XX/XXXX. I made the purchase and selected 0 % for 12 months on my order. When I received the bill from capital one I was unsure if the promotional financing applied because it wasnt clear. I contacted capital one on XX/XX/XXXX and they submitted a request. They said it would take 10 days to process. I asked what I should do in the meantime because I needed to make a payment on XX/XX/XXXX. I was told I should at least make the minimum payment which I did. After making the payment I received notice that my request was denied. I contacted capital one again and was told they would process another request and requested I contact Menards. I filled out a request online for Menards and they gave me info to contact capital one. I then called Menards XXXX Michigan location on XX/XX/XXXX and talked to the front manager XXXX or XXXX. They got all of my information and told me they would call me back by XX/XX/XXXX. This never happened and I have been unable to get ahold of them. I can not find other contact information from Menards and I have not received further communication from Capital one. As a result of this I have received finance charges over 2 months for what I though was the 0 % special financing that I selected on my order. To add to the confusion if I hadnt selected 0 % financing I was to receive an additional rebate instead. When I questioned capital one about this on XX/XX/XXXX I somehow received notice within 2 hours of the conversation that I was getting a rebate.

Consumer Complaint: Dear Consumer Financial Protection Agency, I dont know if you can help me or not, but I dont know where else to turn. Capital One , National Association ( https : XXXX ), just closed my oldest credit card on me for inactivity despite the fact that I was trying to use the account and they never provided me a credit card to do so ( which I requested ). To put it chronologically, in XXXX Capital One sent me a letter saying they were going to close my account for inactivity. I called them back ( XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX ) right away saying that the credit card I had was expired, and I wanted to use it, could they please send me a new credit card. They said yes, I was satisfied. I waited for my card to arrive so I could use it to make a purchase and prevent the account from being closed. What I did not know then ( they did not tell me and I just learned today ) is that apparently my account was marked inactive and they never sent me a replacement credit card. So while I was waiting, I forgot about the issue until in XX/XX/XXXX, Capital One sends me a letter saying they have closed my account for inactivity. I call them back on XX/XX/XXXX, and tell them Im still waiting for my card. It doesnt make an y sense to me to close the account for inactivity when Im trying to use it, they just havent given me the tools to do so. So they open up a case for me, saying I can appeal the closure of the account. I call back again on XX/XX/XXXX to ask about the status of the case. The agent on the line tells me that the case hadnt been reviewed yet, and that the next step is for Capital One to call me. So I wait again for Capital One to call me about the case. I thought I would have a chance to explain to the decisionmaker the fact that due to Capital One not sending me a card when I requested it, I couldnt use the account. I called back again today XX/XX/XXXX, to check on the case again. I learned ( after talking to 4 people and spending more than an hour on the phone ), that my case was reviewed on XX/XX/XXXX by Agent ID XXXX, who never called me, and apparently didnt seem to care that I couldnt have used the account even though I tried. The appeal was declined. When I called again today, I learned that I cant appeal anymore, that was a final decision, and that I couldnt have done anything in the first place, I needed to have called back after Capital One failed to send me a card back in XXXX, and I had been spending all my time trying to fix the closure in vain. I am rather upset about this because its my oldest account by a decade, and I really did want to use it, I just didnt have the tools to do so. Im concerned about the impact on my credit history and score. I dont know what to do, I feel like I tried to do the right things by calling them and requesting a new card, which they said they would send me ( but didnt ) and that Capital One gave me incorrect information several times ( they would send a card, they would call me ). Im told now there is nothing that Capital One can do, but it feels to me they could just reopen my account and make things right, and chose not to. Im not sure what else to do, or where else to turn, I just wanted to share my story with you in the hopes that maybe you can do something.

They said 30-60 days they would return my money. When I called today XX/XX/23 they increased the time they would hold the money to 3-4 months.
